Tom and Jerry was one of my childhood after school staple cartoons. Nothing could cheer me up after a day of learning compound fractions or division like watching Jerry get one up on Tom. And now, they’re back in Tom & Jerry: The Movie.

So I know the first question you are going to ask. Its the same question I asked. How do you get a job coming up with movie titles? Because I could totally have come up with this movie title. Boom, a week’s salary right there.

So the second question you are probably asking is, is this movie any good? The answer is yes. Tom & Jerry: The Movie is one of those movies that allows us to bridge the gap between the experiences I grew up with and share them with my daughters. Granted one of them is a little too young to appreciate it, but my oldest loved it too.

Seeing Tom and Jerry together on the big screen was a real treat. For the first time I was actually sympathetic to Tom. Jerry came across as a little bit of a jerk. It was a little difficult watching Michael Pena as a “villain” since I really like him in every other movie I have seen him in, but even as a bad guy, he was funny.

If you have kids. You will love this movie. If you watched Tom & Jerry as a kid. You will love this movie. If you have no sense of humor. You will not like this movie.

Thank you Warner Bros. for sending me a free copy of the movie for review

One of the most beloved rivalries in history is reignited when Jerry moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of “the wedding of the century,” forcing the event’s desperate planner, Kayla, to hire Tom to get rid of him, in director Tim Story’s “Tom and Jerry.” The ensuing cat and mouse battle threatens to destroy her career, the wedding and possibly the hotel itself. But soon, an even bigger problem arises: a diabolically ambitious staffer conspiring against all three of them.

An eye-popping blend of classic animation and live action, Tom and Jerry’s new adventure stakes new ground for the iconic characters and forces them to eventually do the unthinkable… work together to save the day.
