Have you ever wondered what your pets do when you aren’t home?
I don’t. I know exactly what they do. Well, I know exactly what mine do. If I leave them out and free to roam the house, they eat everything and anything they can find. Not the Sofa or anything like that. But if it’s small and anywhere near mouth level (dog mouth not people mouth) then it is getting chewed up. Of course, that’s if I leave them out long enough to get bored. Prior to that will be multiple hours of laying on our couch or laying by the front door.
Kind of like Max, in The Secret Life of Pets 2. Well, technically that was Max in The Secret Life of Pets. The Secret Life of Pets 2 picks up right where the first one left off, with discarded pets trampling New York City leaving destruction and rabies in their wake. Oh wait, that was the super-secret alternate ending. Ignore that. You did not just read that. IT’s top secret.
But seriously, it does pick up where the first movie left off. Max and Duke are living happily with Katie. But then Katie meets Chuck. Then Katie and Chuck get married. Then Katie and Chuck have a son, Liam. And Max doesn’t like Liam, at first. But then something miraculous happens, Max and Liam bond. Then Max gets overprotective, like a mama bear, then Max develops a nervous itch.
Then Max and Duke and the whole family go to a farm in the country and the dogs meet Rooster. And Rooster is my kind of dog.
But you already know all this. I know you have seen the movie. We’re not here for the movie. We’re here for the Blu-ray. You know why? Because the movie doesn’t have extra features. And by that I mean the outtakes and short films and commentary and all the other great stuff that makes a Blu-ray a Blu-ray. And this Blu-ray release is worth seeing. The best part for me is the Minions short film. I can’t get enough of them. And this Blu-ray is worth it!

The Secret Life of Pets 2 explores the emotional lives of our pets, the deep bond between them, the families that love them and answers the question: What are your pets really doing when you’re not at home? Terrier Max (Patton Oswalt) is coping with major life changes after Katie’s marriage and the arrival of a toddler, Liam. Meanwhile, Gidget (Jenny Slate) tries to rescue Max’s favorite toy from a cat-packed apartment with a little help from her feline friend, Chloe (Lake Bell), who has discovered the joys of catnip. And Snowball (Kevin Hart) believes, despite the other pets’ teasing, that he’s a superhero after his owner starts dressing him in superhero pajamas. But when Daisy (Tiffany Haddish), a fearless Shih Tzu, shows up to ask for Snowball’s help on a dangerous mission, he’ll have to summon the courage to become the hero he’s been pretending to be.
The film features an all-star voice cast including Patton Oswalt (TV’s “A.P. Bio”), Kevin Hart (Ride Along Series), Eric Stonestreet (TV’s Modern Family), Jenny Slate (Despicable Me 3), Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Lake Bell (TV’s Children’s Hospital), Nick Kroll (Sing), Dana Carvey (Wayne’s World), Ellie Kemper (TV’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Hannibal Buress (Neighbors series), Bobby Moynihan (TV’s “Saturday Night Live”) and Harrison Ford (Indiana Jonesfranchise) in his first ever role in an animated film as new farm dog, Rooster.
