Have you ever looked at your family and wondered if you were switched at birth? You look at everyone else and you are just like “I don’t fit in here?” Everyone else loves cheese, but I just don’t. Everyone else loves our murderous haunted house, but I feel more in touch with the possessed tree outside. Everyone else is a homicidal maniac, but…oh wait, we do have that in common. Such is life for Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family 2.
Wednesday is a brilliant, precocious, homicidal child struggling with her family identity. Why don’t they get her? Why does she not feel like she fits in? How is she finally going to put an end to Pugsley? All the normal feelings of a pre-teen girl. Gomez’s solution? Road trip in the family RV to visit all the famous scary landmarks in the country. Will Wednesday find out where she really comes from? For that you will have to watch the movie.
Now I must disclose that I am a fan of all things “Addams Family.” I watched the old TV show on reruns all the time. The live-action movies are still a regular staple at my house. I loved the first animated film. And I am happy to say that The Addams Family 2 continues in the same creepily zany direction. If you are a fan of The Addams Family, this movie will not disappoint. And even if you aren’t a fan, this movie works as a nice family film that everyone will enjoy. There are plenty of jokes that the adults will get, along with the crazy humor that will have the kids laughing. I highly recommend The Addams Family 2.
