In many ways the hubby is a big kid. Correction. Not “many” ways. In every way the hubby is a big kid. That’s probably why he gets along so well with my daughter. They color together and she gets bored with it before he does. They play Play-Doh together. They build LEGO’s together. In other words, a couple of kids, one big, one little.
So needless to say, when we received the Techno Gears Marble Mania Dual Speedway 2.0 it’s hard to say who was more excited, my little kid or my big kid. The little kid was immediately squealing to put it together. Over and over and over. Oh wait, the big kid was too. They immediately took over the kitchen table for the evening to put it together while I looked on. The next three hours was some serious quality bonding time for hubby and child. I should say it took three hours because of how much help the hubby got. This help mostly consisted of my daughter taking it apart as the hubby was putting together. But get it together they eventually did and then it was off to the races.
So in case it’s not obvious, this is a marble racing game. A player presses a button to start an electronic countdown. When it says go, the players pull a trigger to launch a marble to the top of the track and start the race. Through a variety of loops and chutes and buckets and twists the marbles fly. The Dual Speedway kept both the kids occupied for hours and still does. However, if there was one downside I would have to say it was the tendency of the marbles to not stay on the track. There are a couple turns that were causing the hubby to go chasing after the marble on the floor a lot. But on the flipside, he could use the exercise, so it all worked out.
