I have been invited by Disney/ABC to attend the #GoodDinoEvent. All expenses will be paid; however, all opinions expressed will be 100% my own as they always are!
As you may recall, about five months ago I visited L.A. for the first time, courtesy of Disney, to experience the #TomorrowlandEvent. Hopefully you followed my posts, I mean seriously … I met George Clooney … but if not, be sure to catch up before November 15th because that is when I will be departing Cincinnati for my next adventure with DISNEY!
SURPRISE … WE’RE HEADED BACK TO L.A.!!
About two weeks ago I was sitting at my workstation typing away when my phone chimed to let me know an new email had come in. I hit the unlock button and a small scream escaped my lips when I saw Disney, ABC & Disney Channel Invite You to Los Angeles! 11/15 – 11/18. This my friends, this is what we, in the blogging world, like to refer to as a magical email full of pixie dust. I swear Tinker Bell wrote it herself and sealed the deal with a splash of magic!
Seriously, I was like that teenager attending my first concert to see my one true love (a.k.a. the current heartthrob). It totally wasn’t embarrassing at all, me jumping around, chanting about going to the #GoodDinoEvent, and maybe doing a little dance. I mean, I was home alone but it was totally not embarrassing. Okay, okay, I am sure you are wondering what we will be doing in L.A. so let’s move on, shall we?
For starters, let me note that this trip will include the film release of THE GOOD DINOSAUR, the hit ABC shows DANCING WITH THE STARS, BLACK-ISH, and THE MUPPETS, as well as the Disney Channel special event THE LION GUARD: RETURN OF THE ROAR! I will be attending this, what can only be classified as, fabulous event with 24 other amazing bloggers, and we will be staying at the gorgeous Hilton Garden Inn which is one block from Hollywood Boulevard! Seriously, we will be by the Dolby Theatre where the Oscars take place!!!
First up on our journey, we will be walking the red carpet at THE GOOD DINOSAUR premier which is opening in theaters on November 25, 2015. I have to buy a beautiful dress and I am still looking so if you see anything beautiful, please send it my way! Red carpet, talk about mind blown! I thought only movie stars received these kinds of perks. I’ll keep my eyes peels for star power and will be live posting as much as possible so keep an eye out! In addition to the red carpet, we will also be interviewing cast and filmmakers from the movie. The final details and itinerary are still coming together so more to come on that … just watch for the hashtag #GoodDinoEvent for the latest and greatest!
While in town, we will also attend a live taping of the 21st season of “Dancing with the Stars”! I don’t know if you have been watching this season but the competition is fierce and ummm holy hotness! Get caught up now by tuning in on Monday nights at 8/7c. Did I mention we will be there to see the semi-finalist contestants perform LIVE in the glamorous ballroom?!? Now, I’m not saying I have any favorites or anything but Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough are adorable and I hope I get to see them! Did I mention I will need a fancy dress for this outing as well? I can’t remember the last time I got so gussied up and it will be so worth it!
Next up, we will be heading to the Walt Disney Studios Lot for special preview screenings of episodes of hit ABC comedies “black-ish” (Wednesday nights at 9:30/8:30c) and “The Muppets” (Tuesday nights at 8:00/7:00c)! We will have a meet & greet with the multi-talented Tracee Ellis Ross, who portrays Johnson family mom & anesthesiologist Rainbow “Bow” Johnson on “black-ish” and we will get to see the set in person!
We will stop by the set of Miss Piggy’s late-night talk show, “Up Late with Miss Piggy” (which Kermit the Frog executive produces, of course) where you will be treated to an exclusive preview screening of an upcoming episode right there on the “Up Late” set.
After a short break to take a selfie where famous guests like Elizabeth Banks and Christina Applegate were interviewed by Miss Piggy! Then, we will participate in a Q&A with “The Muppets” Executive Producer Bill Barretta, who also performs Pepe the King Prawn, Rowlf the Dog, The Swedish Chef, Dr. Teeth and Bobo the Bear!
Last but certainly not least, the group will attend a screening of “The Lion Guard: Return of The Roar,” which continues the epic storytelling of “The Lion King” and introduces Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala, as he assumes his role as leader of the Lion Guard, a group of animals tasked with protecting the Pride Lands.
The screening to be followed by a Q&A panel with Executive Producer Ford Riley, Composer Christopher Willis, Singer/Songwriter Beau Black and Swahili Consultant Sarah Mirza.
Whew, can you believe that lineup? I’ve barely been able to catch my breath and the trip hasn’t even begun! Growing up I loved The Muppets and Lion King and can’t believe I will have such an up close and personal look at both. Dancing with the Stars and black-ish, can you imagine seeing mere steps away from people that you watch every week? And the icing on the cake, the cherry on top, and the purpose for the trip … The Good Dinosaur … I have eagerly been awaiting the arrival of this movie and now I will get to experience the red carpet! If this is a dream, I don’t think I want to wake up. Pixie dust is in the air and the magic is very real. Be sure to stay tuned for new details that I will be releasing as soon as I get them.
