Picking up a year after the first movie, Bodi still lives on Snow Mountain, plays music with his band, has gained a local following, and is enjoying all that life has to offer. Things change when they are offered the opportunity of a lifetime and they are invited on a pop tour with music sensation, Lil’ Foxy. Through a series of events and life lessons; the band comes to learn that the price of fame can be steep.
I was able to screen this movie on a rainy day with my 11 year-old daughter, 10 month old, and my nephews, ages 3 and 5. For me, I wasn’t a huge fan of the second movie. I missed the star-studded original cast and the movie felt choppy at times. My daughter was seemingly entertained but anything with music is her jam. I think she spent most of the movie trying to match the characters signing voices. My nephews thought the movie was an absolute hoot and they spent a lot of time off the couch, dancing to the beats. I enjoyed the music but I was hoping for more from the storyline.
Overall, I would recommend the movie for a younger audience. It is unlikely that they will pick up on all the quips and tech slang but the characters are cute, likeable, and the music is decent.
