I believe there are certain things that are hereditary. Okay, this isn’t a new concept that I just thought up, this is a scientific fact. I guess what I am trying to say is that I believe there are things that are hereditary that science may not necessarily agree with. For example, our “get up and go juice” a.k.a. what we drink in the morning, I think this is hereditary. When I was growing up, my parents would drink a full pot of coffee before leaving for work in the morning and they would brew another just to take coffee with them. I remember that I started drinking coffee when I was in fourth grade but it is possible mom was adding it to my bottles long before that, who knows!

I guess what I am trying to say is that I adore coffee. The problem is, while there are people who will tell you coffee is good for you, there are just as many, if not more, that will tell you how bad it is for you. Then again, everything is bad for us; breathing air is bad for us. Okay, so that isn’t really a good way to change my mind about things. I don’t think that there will ever come a time when I don’t love coffee but what I do know is there are times when it is so sticky and hot outside that the last thing I want to do is wake up and drink a hot cup of coffee. Since I think iced coffee is gross, there has to be something else out there that can still give me that “get up and go” that I need to start my day. Right? A friend recommended Matcha Green Tea Powder. I like tea and I really like green tea so I figured what the heck, I would give it a try.

Did you know that Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder can …

Increase Memory and Concentration – Increased endurance from one bowl of Matcha Tea can last up to 6 hours. This product contains L-theanine which is an amino acid that is known to relax the mind. This creates a natural mood enhancer and good, clean energy.

Boost Energy – Let’s be clear that there IS caffeine in Matcha; however, it is released into the bloodstream slowly. This gradual release allows the caffeine to help with digestion, healing, and cleansing.

Serve as a Fat Blocker – Matcha increases metabolism and aids the body in burning fat. It contains polyphenol EGCG which is a thermogenic believed to boost metabolism.

This is my first time trying Organic Matcha and I have to admit, I have been really nervous about it. The tea that I drink normally comes out of a tea bag or bottle so the thought of a tea in powder from that I can mix into smoothies, cookies, cakes, ice cream, and other recipes make me a little nervous. In my world, tea is just tea and now it is green, powdery, and complicated.

After reading the front and back of the bag and trying to figure out why anyone would add tea to their cookies I opened up the bag and inhaled deeply. I know this will be shocking but it smells like tea. It has an earthy aroma and I really like it. The powder is fine and an absolutely beautiful emerald green color. In other words, the Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder that I received consists of green tea leaves that have been milled into a powdered form. It’s beautiful, smells like tea, and the bag was already open so I figured it was time indulge my curiosity.

Before I tried anything, two people told me that when it comes to Matcha Tea, less is more. I kind of shrugged my shoulders at this, having no idea what they were talking about, and even commented that I prefer my tea strong. Famous last words, right? Clearly I was the one that I had no idea what I was talking about as I added a heaping scoop to a morning smoothie, took a big drink, and literally spit it out in the sink because it was way too bitter. Don’t fret, I lessened the amount, a great deal, the second time around and all was well. I could still taste the tea in the background and it added a touch of bitterness but it wasn’t overpowering and I actually liked it.

Here is what I can tell you. As I was informed, less is definitely more when it comes to Matcha Green Tea. The bag that I received for review is 4 oz which I originally thought was a bit small for the money; however, I have since changed my mind. With the amount of product I will use each time, this bag will last me for a lengthy period of time which makes the price more than competitive. The packaging indicates that the recommended daily dose is 1 teaspoon once or twice a day.

The product comes in an easy to reseal bag; however, I suggest keeping it in an airtight container. Why? There are two reasons. First, I am not a huge fan of products in bags that reseal as the seal often fails and I keep my tea bags in an air tight canister so it was a natural progression for me to place my Matcha Tea in an airtight canister. The packaging says the product should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat. For it to last 12 months, it should be stored properly at room temperature and for 18 months if kept under cold storage.

Now, down to the details, if you do not like tea … this product is not for you. In all actuality, even if you like tea, this product may not be for you. Organic Matcha is a concentrated formula and that is why I mentioned earlier that a little goes a long way. This is not a sweet product and has undertones of bitterness and that is why you should start with less and add more to taste. I recommend using a blender, frother, mixer, etc… when working with this product as a spoon may not fully incorporate the power into the other ingredients in your food or drink. Last but not least, have fun with it! As with anything, there are going to be things that we do and do not like. The only way to know what we enjoy is to put ourselves out there and try new things. That is what I did and even thought I started by spitting in the sink, I ended up really enjoying this new introduction.

Are you interested in trying Organic Matcha Green Tea but nervous about what to do with the product once it arrives? No worries, a recipe eBook containing 50 recipes is included free with every purchase, and emailed after purchase, courtesy of uVernal.

I have been experimenting with my Matcha Green Tea Powder for about a week and while I have not noticed a change in my memory, I have noticed that my energy is on point, and I am more willing to get up and go; especially outside, in the morning. The energy boost alone is enough reason for me to continue adding this product to smoothies but the other potential benefits such as a metabolism stimulant and fat blockers makes this a must have in my pantry; especially during the spring and summer months.

I need to get this for my mom. She's getting older and she has trouble concentrating and this would probably do the trick.

Thanks for the Fantastic Review on Perfectly Pure and Powerful Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder! I don't know about this GREEN powder! I love my coffee in the mornings and I love cold coffee as well! I'm not sure about this "bitter" side of this powder. I occasionally drink tea, however, it's with a tea bag and honey and lemon! I just look at this green powder and when I first saw it, I said "EWWW" out loud! I wouldn't mind to try it just once, however, I don't think I'd want it all the time! Thanks so much for sharing the fantastic review, the pictures, and all the personal and professional information on Perfectly Pure and Powerful Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder with all of us! I truly do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele :)

I can only think of one thing to say....YUCK! That does not look like tea to me! It looks like green chalk! I've never been a fan of green tea! I have tried it in Iced Tea and regular tea and I just don't like the flavor! I know that it is supposed to be good for you, but, I'll take my chances without it! Hey, it's all on a person's taste. If you like it, good for you! Thanks for sharing your fantastic Review on Perfectly Pure and Powerful Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder with all of us! You know that I always enjoy your reviews! Thanks again! Michele :)

I enjoy tea but I'm not sure about this. If they sold single serving sized packets I would give it a try.I wouldn't buy a large container without tasting it first.

Great, down-to-earth & honest review! Matcha green tea seems to be everywhere these days and I've always wondered what all the fuss was about.

Update to my previous comment: I finally tracked some down, bought it and started to experiment. I quickly came to the conclusion that unless I buried it in food then it wasn't for me! Just couldn't get used to the taste at all!
