My daughter loves to bake. I’m trying to foster that interest because frankly, I’m terrible at it. The hubby is pretty good at it though so I’m hoping that his skill helps her learn. He learned to bake from his mom; I’m hoping my daughter can learn to bake from her dad. Part of my strategy (if you could call it that) is to encourage her learning to bake is to provide her with fun accessories with which to bake. I have about a billion cookie cutter shapes, fun mixing spoons and kid friendly bowls.
And now, I have the most awesome cupcake…thingies. I know they have a name of some sort, the hubby would know I’m sure. I call them cupcake thingies. But the Sunsella’s Little Gems are perfect. They are reusable cup cake (liners? molds? Whatever) thingies. They are made of 100% food safe silicone. BPA Free (hopefully everyone knows how bad BPA is). They are dishwasher safe, freezer safe, microwave safe and oven safe (well, I would surely hope they would be oven safe, they wouldn’t be much use otherwise). They come in a pack of 12, are an amazing bright rainbow of colors, and my daughter LOVES using them. And if it’s not obvious…They’re REUSABLE. Just like silicone baking mats or silicone cake molds. Beautiful, functional and eco-friendly. That’s a win for me. I wonder how old you have to be to get on Cupcake Wars. Four may be pushing it, but she’ll be five soon, and whipping up cupcakes like a pro.
