The hubby has a soft spot for Best Buy. The kind of soft spot that makes it dangerous to let him go there by himself. The kind of soft spot that sends him to get a new wireless router and sees him come home with a new computer and a tablet, along with the new wireless router because “we need to be able to take advantage of the dual band wireless otherwise we’re letting bandwidth go to waste and the old laptops can’t use the new band.” I have no idea what he just said, but I just shake my head. Fortunately I don’t let him go there alone all that often. But the combination of friendly, no pressure staff that usually knows what they are talking about is big to him.
This year I may not have to worry about letting him go by himself however, because we are actually looking for a few things this Christmas and I may just have to turn the hubby loose. To start off with, the hubby needs a new GPS since my sister lost his. She claims it’s still in her house somewhere but that’s about the equivalent of saying that the dog’s bone is buried in the backyard. I know everyone asks why buy a GPS when you have a Smartphone but when the hubby is driving he doesn’t want to mess around. He wants a reliable device that he doesn’t have to screw around with, and the navigation on the Smartphone just doesn’t make the grade yet.
We also need speakers. Speakers for what? I’m glad you asked. The Mom Unit has a pretty cool new fire pit at her house. And when you are sitting around a blazing fire drinking cold beer, you need tunes. Now this is where the hubby and I do like to repurpose the Smartphone. It’s great for listening to music around the fire, but you need a wireless Bluetooth speaker to really appreciate it and Best Buy has a great selection of JBL speakers.
Now the only question left is what unexpected thing will the hubby get if I send him there? The daughter has asked for a dancing game, so that will probably be his excuse to buy an Xbox One. Oh well, if he does I can use that as an excuse to get him to buy me a new laptop, but that would mean sending him back there alone. But then, I wouldn’t mind a new washer and dryer…
