If you are an individual who needs to wear corrective lenses, you most certainly will be able to relate to what I am about to say. Both my husband and I have worn corrective lenses for years, as neither of us can wear contacts. So, we are forced to wear glasses. Don’t get me wrong, I truly don’t mind wearing glasses, but I am somewhat amazed at the cost involved. Now, your eye doctor will recommend that you have your eyes checked every two years, and if your prescription changes, that means that you will need to purchase new glasses. With the exception of the last trip to our eye doctor, we have always purchased our glasses from the optical department within the doctor’s office. However, just last fall, my husband went in for his regular check up only to discover that his prescription had changed, therefore he would need to purchase new glasses. Since the optical department was no longer present in the doctor’s office, we went to one of the local optical stores in our area. We walked out paying over $600 for a pair of new glasses for my husband. Well, let me take that back. The company was having a 2 for 1 sale, which meant that he got a pair of sunglasses, too. However, he rarely wears his sunglasses because his new pair of glasses are tinted to guard against sunlight. I think that even the most affluent class would find it questionable to have to pay that amount for new glasses, and for those without insurance, it puts a big dent into your budget. You can also select by color, size, shape and frame. Since I had never purchased any glasses online before this occasion, I clicked on the tab on the bottom of the screen that offers you tips for purchasing your new glasses. After reading that information, I then proceeded to look at the different shape frames. I could even “try a pair on” by uploading a selfie. After I had selected a few frames, I then had to narrow down my selection to whether that particular frame was available for either a single lens, bi-focal or progressive. After making my final selection, I then clicked the Add to Cart button and was taken to an area where I would input my prescription information. You will need to have your prescription handy at this point. You will then select your lens type, and any additives you wish such as tinted lenses. Then simply check out.
