I love games that help my child learn without her being aware of it. Or at least only partially aware. That’s also one of the reasons I love couponing. She’s learning math without even being conscious of it. So anything that helps her learn, while being a fun game, is a bonus. For that reason I love Zingo! Word Builder!
You start off with a card with words with missing letters. The beginner side of the card is missing one letter in each word. The intermediate side of the card is missing two letters per word. You get Tiles from the tile gadget and try to place them to form actual words. You can play in just about any way you would like. Cooperatively where everyone looks at all the cards and tries to place words. In Teams. Every person for themselves. You can also mix and match the beginner cards and the intermediate cards. The possibilities are endless. Well, maybe not endless since that would be a bit of a stretch to say there are an infinite number of combinations of ways to play this game, since after all I’m sure there is some mathematical limit to the number of combinations. Wait. Where was I? Oh yeah, Ways to play Zingo! Word Builder. Want a little extra challenge? Try using a timer. It’s a little early to try the timer with my daughter; we’re just working on forming words. Watching my four year old form some words is actually pretty funny sometimes. CJW? PKT? LAF? Obviously we’re still working on it.
