Stop Puppy Mills—It Starts With YOU

by Jenn

puppyPet stores that care about puppies don’t sell them. That’s because the majority of pet stores that sell puppies carry dogs from cruel and inhumane puppy mills. Puppy mills are like dog-making factories with the mother dogs spending their entire lives in cramped cages or kennels with little or no personal attention or quality of life.

When the mother and father dogs can no longer breed, they are discarded or killed. Consumers who purchase puppies from pet stores or over the Internet without seeing a breeder’s home firsthand are often unknowingly supporting this cruel industry.Help stop this cycle of cruelty simply by choosing to adopt your next pet from a shelter or rescue, or by only purchasing a dog from a responsible breeder who will show you where your puppy was born and raised. And that’s not all—you can do even more by refusing to buy pet supplies from any store or website that sells puppies. Where you spend your dollars makes a difference. Make a statement when you shop!

Watch the all-new video, then fill out and submit your pledge below.  Go NOW help stop these horrible puppy mills!

I have always hated Puppy Mills. I think they are unsafe and don't take care of the pets. We have so many little animals that need a home. We need to give these guys a good home!

It's not just pet stores that you have to watch out for too. Puppies that come from flea markets are PUPPY MILL dogs. I warned my sister and warned her, and she bought her puppy there right before Christmas. He was dead less than a week after. The "breeder" gave her another puppy who has had some problems too. I understand that they need love and everything, but supporting the puppies coming out of those places is not helping anything. Thanks to bloggers and people like you, the word is now getting out there about the horrible conditions that these puppies are coming from. As a vet assistant, I've seen it all frist hand and I can tell you that the conditions (even though the puppies look fine) is not pretty. Sorry for the long comment, but this subject kind of gets me worked up. lol

Being active in animal rescue and animal advocacy as I am, the best advice I can give anyone is to ALWAYS adopt and to ALWAYS spay and neuter.
