Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Every once in a while there is a movie that defines a genre. The gold standard to which all others are compared. For mob movies there is The Godfather (ok, or maybe Goodfellas, I can’t decide). Romantic Comedies? When Harry Met Sally. Comedy? Airplane. Adventure? Raiders of the Lost Ark.

You get the idea. So what’s missing? The quintessential animated movie. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Disney’s very first Animated feature. And now it is also the first in the Signature Collection. Disney’s exciting new line of high definition Blu-Ray and Digital HD movies. In case you aren’t aware. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the story of Snow White’s escape from her wicked Stepmother (the queen) into the deep woods. She comes across a group of dwarf miners and proceeds to take care of their home in exchange for hiding her from the queen.

For the first time ever, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is available on Digital download. For those of us that like to be able to watch our movies on the go (on my tablet) that is huge. In addition to being shown in stunning HD, the Blu-Ray itself is also packed with extras. You get to hear Walt Disney himself talk about Snow White. There is an alternative storyboard for scenes within the movie and featurettes on how Snow White has affected modern pop culture and the design of animated characters up to this day.

I always loved this movie and my girls loved watching it when they were younger. Guess we'll need to get the DVD now since we have no way to watch the VHS tapes anymore.

I vividly remember my parents taking me to the theater to watch Disney movies. It was such a good time! I continued with the tradition and brought my kids to watch Disney movies too. Happy to know that the movies I grew up with are still available for viewing nowadays.

When I was a little girl we didn't have all the Disney movies that are available today. Snow White was one of my favorites. I was always drawn to her ability to connect with the forest animals.

This is one of my absolute favorites as a child! Whenever I have my niece over, we always settle in with popcorn and juice and watch Snow White! She tries to convince me the newer Snow White based movies are better but I disagree! ~MS for Kelli
