Red, White, and Blue Roundup

by Heather

It’s been a busy summer for us so far and we are excited to celebrate the first official holiday of the summer season. With flags flying and patriotic songs in the background… check out our Red, White, and Blue Roundup!

When you think about summer, what is the first thing that comes to mind?

Red, White, and Blue, cookouts, camping, patriotic, pool parties, bonfires, S’mores, bike rides, lemonade, rain showers … the list goes on and on.

When I think about summer, I think back to my childhood of running through the yard catching fireflies, night swimming, sparklers, and camp outs in the backyard with my sisters. When we had camp outs, mom and dad would make us a bonfire and we would enjoy hotdogs and S’mores over the fire and tell stories before settling in for the night.

Now that we are older and have kids of our own, we don’t get together for camp outs, although now that I am typing this I think maybe we should, but we do get together as often as possible for family time. With 4th of July just days away and Labor Day on the horizon I’ve been on the lookout for new recipes to bring to our next cookout.

Yesterday, I shared our 4th of July (or Red, White, & Blue) Almond Bark Pretzel Bark recipe.

Today, I would like to share some fun patriotic recipes if you are still on the lookout for something new and different to take to your next gathering with friends and/or family. There may be a few fun crafts and games as well!

Here is wishing you and yours a summer filled with fireworks, late night bonfires, s’mores galore, and great memory making experiences!
