Celebrate Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray/DVD/Digital

Of all the Disney movies ever created, Beauty and the Beast is my absolute favorite. When the movie first came out, on VHS, it was such a hit in our home that my parents picked up a second copy to keep on hand, just knowing that I was going to wear the tape out. They were both used and enjoyed! My copies of Beauty and the Beast are so old that there are parts of the film that are cut out and the voice doesn’t work but I still remember the words as if I spoke them myself.

It is because of this love for Beauty and the Beast, and movie copies that are so old and warn out, that I was thrilled to hear Disney would be re-releasing the film in honor of the movie’s 25th Anniversary!

So what did I notice??? That’s easy, right off the bat, I am pleased to share that the entire movie is there. There aren’t sections that blink or places where someone should be talking and they aren’t. We all know the story so I don’t need to rehash that with you, it truly is a tale as old as time, and one that we all know backwards and forwards … at least those of us that are huge fans. And let’s be honest, if you weren’t a huge fan, you wouldn’t be reading this right now.

The picture is crisper, you can tell that some of the graphics have been remastered, but overall it is the same amazing movie. Are there bonuses to picking up this anniversary addition? YES!

In addition to getting a new copy of the movie, which is totally awesome in and of itself, with the 25th Anniversary Edition, you will also receive a new advanced sing-along version AND an Extended Version which includes the “Human Again” song sequence. I don’t know about you but I am a HUGE fan of anything that will give me more time with Belle and her Beast.

Beauty and the Beast is a great film for the entire family. I picked up an extra copy for our home and one to add to my daughter’s collection that we are creating for her. This is something that my parents did for me when I was growing up, want to guess how many VHS tapes I have? Here is hoping Blu-ray/DVD don’t become a thing of the past in the next 10 to 15 years {fingers crossed}.

I can’t encourage you enough to pick up a copy of the film. The Sing-Along alone is enough reason to head to the store or Amazon to pick up your copy, today!

Be our guest.

Despite her precarious situation, Belle befriends the castle’s enchanted staff—a teapot, a candelabra and a mantel clock, among others—and ultimately learns to see beneath the Beast’s exterior to discover the heart and soul of a prince.

“Beauty and the Beast” was nominated for six Academy Awards® and was the first animated feature to receive an Academy Award® nomination for best picture. It won two Oscars®, including best song, by the renowned Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and best original score (Menken), as well as a Golden Globe Award® for best comedy/musical.

“Beauty and the Beast” was Disney’s first animated film adapted into a Broadway musical, which ran for 5,464 performances from 1994-2007 and has delighted more than 35 million people worldwide.
