The BFG ~ I’m Heading to LA for this GIANT Event! #TheBFGEvent #FutureWormEvent

by Heather

THE BFG Event has me returning to LA next week, my third trip with Disney, and I couldn’t be more excited! Last night we received our full itinerary for the trip which includes a few advanced screenings, a red carpet premiere for THE BFG, and interviewing cast and talent from the film. I am thrilled to share details of the event with you today and hope you will join in on the fun!

I grew up an avid reader and continue the hobby to this day. There is always a book in the top drawer of my nightstand, a backup book on the shelf ready for a new adventure, and in this case, a fresh read with crisp pages for a flight.

As a little I was surrounded by the greats and one of my favorites was Roald Dahl. Stories like James and the Giant Peach, The Witches, Matilda, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory filled my childhood with imagination and fun. And now, I get the chance to celebrate the magic of his personal favorite, The BFG, hitting the big screen on July 1, 2016.

I will be in Los Angeles from June 20 through June 22, 2016 learning more about THE BFG and so much more and invite you to join in the adventure!

Here’s the breakdown!!

In Disney's fantasy-adventure THE BFG, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Roald Dahl's beloved classic, a precocious 10-year-old girl from London named Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) befriends the BFG (Oscar (R) winner Mark Rylance), a Big Friendly Giant from Giant Country. The film opens in theaters nationwide on July 1.

After settling in at the hotel we will meet for a welcome dinner and then head to to Walt Disney Studios. Before screening THE BFG we will have the chance to walk around Legends Plaza, keep an eye out for some awesome pictures on Instagram and other social media outlets.

Tuesday, June 21st

We will start bright and early with THE BFG Press Junket which means interviewing talent from the film. The lineup includes Ruby Barnhill (“Sophie”), Penelope Wilton (“The Queen”), Rebecca Hall (“Mary”), Mark Rylance (“The BFG”), and Jemaine Clement (“Fleshlumpeater”). Also, and I still can’t believe this is real, we will get to sit down with Director Steven Spielberg!

Do you have any questions, for this amazing group of talent, about the film? Be sure to submit them below and I will try to ask as many as possible.

In the afternoon we will head to ABC Building to eat lunch in the commissary before attending a screening of QUEEN OF KATWE. The film stars David Oyelowo, Academy Award Winner Lupita Nyong’o, and Madina Nalwanga. I’m so excited for this films arrival in theaters this September and can’t wait to share more with you …

Then we will head back to the hotel to get ready for THE BFG Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre; I wonder what color the carpet will be for this film! Dressed in summer chic, I hope to pull off the look, we will walk the carpet and attend a VIP party with food, drinks, and mingling. I’ll be on the lookout for celebrities and plan to share selfies and pictures from the event along the way.

Wednesday, June 22nd

The final day of the event is always a little bitter sweet because I love Disney trips, spending time with my fellow bloggers, and taking in Los Angeles. That aside, it will be packed full of fun thanks to FUTURE-WORM and Disney XD!

We will arrive at Disney’s animation facility for breakfast and an episode screening of FUTURE-WORM! The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Executive Producer Ryan Quincy and then photos and artwork from FUTURE-WORM!
