We are going to talk about a very personal and private topic today; kitchen appliance colors and finishes. Me? I used to be all about the white appliances. They were easy to clean, didn’t show fingerprints and looked bright. Black appliances were just too dark for a kitchen. Stainless was nice, but fingerprints…arggh, and something about the fact that magnets don’t stick to the refrigerator still drives me crazy.
But then something happened. A near miracle in the world of appliance finishes.

They just look sooo pretty. Shiny and glossy. Did I mention pretty? They just look so elegant that I now have appliance envy. But it’s not just about how they look. The great thing about black stainless is that unlike regular stainless, it is a lot easier to clean and remove smudges and fingerprints. So, you get the best of both worlds really. And I don’t mean that in the Star Trek: The Next Generation sense of the phrase. I mean that in the “This is awesome, I’m a kitchen appliance convert” kind of way.
