Just in time for the DVD release of Paw Patrol: Rescue Wheels we have come up with a fun craft for you to try with your kids: Carboard box Paw Patrol Vehicles. If your kids love Paw Patrol as much as mine do, they will have hours of fun building and then playing with these vehicles as they run around pretending to be pups in the Paw Patrol.
One thing I will say, We made a couple attempts at this. One definitely turned out better than the other. The first attempt used Sam’s Club boxes with the logo all over them and acrylic paint. Not so great. The logos definitely showed through and apparently acrylic paint is really NOT meant for cardboard. The second attempt also used Sam’s Club boxes, but they were newer without the logo everywhere and we used Primer + Paint spray paint from Rust-Oleum. That worked much better.
Craft Materials

Craft Instructions
- Remove any packing tape from the top of the box and open the top. I would recommend removing the packing tape on the bottom and using a glue gun to re-glue the bottom flaps, it makes a much sturdier vehicle.
- Paint outside of box in your choice of Paw Patrol color or cover with construction paper. We used Spray paint because it covers much better than Acrylic or Tempera paint.
- Paint some paper plates black or cut out black construction paper into large circles to make tires
- Paint front top flap (short end) white for the Windshield
- Take the two long flaps and bend the corner inward at an angle to glue the windshield onto. For best results, use a hot glue gun to glue the two sections to the back of the windshield flap
- Using more paint or construction paper add details (ladder, radiator, side windows). Be as detailed (or not) as you like
- Glue the wheels to the sides of the box near the bottom
- Poke holes in each corner at the top
- Put a piece of string or ribbon from front to back and tie. Repeat for other side.
- Cut a large hole in the bottom of the box
- Cut out Paw Patrol logos (available here and here)and glue to the vehicle

The Rust-Oleum Paint + Primer provides much better coverage and the ribbon will feel more comfortable on your kiddo’s shoulders.
