If I was in the grocery store last month and someone asked me where to find the organic aisle I would have looked at them as though they had three heads. Let’s be honest, it’s not always easy to eat organic and it’s certainly not cheap either. As a frugal momma that is often on the go I’m always on the lookout for ways to put fantastic, healthful meals on the table without breaking the bank. Thanks to Wild Oats and Walmart I have discovered a way to serve my family nutritious, organic products at budget-friendly prices. Now, instead driving to a store that specializes in organic products and having to pay exorbitant prices, I’m able to find what I’m looking for by simply going to my local grocery. SCORE!

Now, I have a confession, I have never been one to buy organic. I normally head to the grocery store and grab whatever is cheapest and head to the checkout as quickly as possible. I know, I know … that makes me sound horrible, right?

Before we go any further … let me repent by saying cooking with fresh produce is by far one of my favorite things to do. Second, everything changed after Wild Oats sent me a box full of goodies for review!

As soon as I opened the box and took a peek inside I knew what I was going to make! I went out to my garden and picked a few items that I knew I would need like fresh tomatoes, a couple of peppers, and with a few more things it became TACO TIME!  Yes, taco time in my house is a big thing! ;)

I used my Wild Oats Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil to sear my chicken off before I cut it up. While that was cooking I chipped up my fresh ingredients for salsa and added a few dashes of Wild Oats Chipotle Hot Sauce because we like our salsa SPICY!

Salsa complete and the chicken flipped, I emptied the can of Wild Oats Organic Black Beans into a small sauce pan. The first thing that I noticed is that the beans were a vibrant black. I love black beans and had never noticed until now that when they come out of a can they look much duller. I gave the beans a slight mash to make them thicker; however, this is just a preference!

I sautéed up some onions and mushrooms, seasoned them with the Wild Oats Organic Paprika as well as some fresh garlic, salt, and pepper. The kitchen smelled amazing and I was really excited for dinner! I then mixed up some of my homemade guacamole and added a dash of the paprika just to give it a little kick!

Dinner was served.

By far, these were some of the best tacos that I have ever made! The ingredients were so fresh that you could tell the difference with each bite that you took. I may not have been an organic shopper before but I now see why it is so important when the quality of what you are eating is at hand.
