I was about to donate my old ones to the zoo, but now that I heard about the idea for women’s shelters, I am going to try that first – better to reuse before recycle!

I just went to that site & they offered me a pretty good price for my daughters phone. I was just testing it to see what they’d offer. Thanks for this post otherwise I never would’ve known about it.

I have never done it, but I wrote down the website and would like to see what I would get for my old phone. If it isn’t much, I would rather donate it to a women’s shelter.

To me i will sell my phone..By selling it, i am helping those who cannot afford to have new phones.There are still lot many people out there who cannot afford to have mobile phones

Those are great ideas, post and comments. I always give mine away to people I know who need phones. But I like the idea of really helping people.

I usually hang on to mine as a back up but by now I have a few. Sounds like a good idea to donate to a shelter or even an elderly person especially one who lives alone for an emergency.

What a great idea. Around here, all you can find is a recycle box (actually,an old, repainted mailbox) for used cell phones at the Recycling Center. I suppose there is something here in the US, but I haven’t really looked into it.

I’m not sure about the US, but here in Canada, you can use a mobile phone that no longer has service, for emergency calls, so places like women’s shelters are always happy to have them! They give them out to their clients because they can still use them to call 911.
