Turning a Dream into Reality Courtesy of Best Buy and Samsung

by Heather

I used to watch HGTV a lot. But I stopped because I got so frustrated. Designer Kitchens. Huge Bathrooms. Fancy media rooms. Fabulous back yards. People that seemed to have about $3 to their name yet redid 10 rooms in their house. You know what I was always most jealous of? Don’t laugh. You’re going to laugh. Please don’t.

Dual ovens.

I have to hear about the hubby growing up with dual ovens all the time. “This was back before microwaves mind you. Man that extra oven was sooo convenient. Turkey in the main oven, side dishes in the top oven. It was soo great.”

I have wanted dual ovens for the longest time. Unfortunately, we don’t have a kitchen where we can put those fancy dual things in the wall, so I’ve been looking wistfully at dual oven stoves. For years I have been saying to my husband, “But honey, think of the amazing meals that I could cook.” He would just stare at me and, depending on his mood, make a comment about my lack of cooking (he thinks he is hilarious) or our stove being just fine. Have you ever seen a thirty-something year old woman pout? Yeah, it’s not a pretty sight BUT now, thanks to the awesomeness of Best Buy and Samsung, I don’t have to pout anymore! Because now, I have a Samsung Flex Duo Electric Range!!

First, I must point out that my stove has 5 cooking surfaces including a warming burner. The oven has convectional AND conventional settings. And you know that drawer at the bottom of the oven that you always use as storage? That’s actually a warming drawer. You can keep stuff warm in there while you finish cooking. Who knew?

What makes my new oven amazing? The flexibility! The Flex Duo (see the word “flex” in the name?) comes with a slide out divider. So if you need to cook two things at once you can. Lasagna and Garlic Bread? Different cooking temperatures? Yep, I can cook them at the same time. Turkey and stuffing? Different temperatures? Yep, I can cook them at the same time. Baked Chicken and French Fries? Fish and Chips? Cookies and Brownies? You get the idea. Start paying attention to how many times a week (assuming you cook of course) that you have things that need to cook at different temperatures and you will be amazed.

Okay, so this is a dual oven but it is all part of the same unit. I bet you are wondering how that works. The top oven is accessible via a smaller mini door. What that means is, if I need to cook something for an hour, I simply put it in the bottom and let it cook. Then, if I have things that need to cook for 25 minutes, 35 minutes, etc… I can get in and out of the top oven without affecting the cooking temperature in the lower oven. Having the neighborhood over for Thanksgiving and need a large oven to cook that 47 pound turkey? No problem! Simply pull out the oven divider and you have a full size oven. Boom, easy peasy!

Samsung Range Open

As a busy mom on the go there is another feature that I absolutely love and that is how quickly this thing heats up. My old oven seemed to take forever. When I just need to cook something small, the top oven goes from nothing to 350 in about a minute (no I didn’t time it, but its fast). It’s amazing what a time saver that is just by itself. And let’s face it, for most of us, less time in the kitchen is a good thing.

I can’t say enough about our Flex Duo and how much I absolutely love it. The new addition to our kitchen is just what I have been looking for and we have been cooking and baking to make up for lost time. I have even been toying with the idea of watching HGTV again. We shall see. Are you like me and pining for a dual oven but don’t think you have the space for it? The Samsung Flex Duo Electric Range may be just what you are looking for, check it out at a Best Buy near you!

LOL! Yes, I had a laugh! For the most part I always have a laugh reading your reviews! Thanks for the Fantastic Review on Turning a Dream into Reality Courtesy of Best Buy and Samsung! It would be nice to have a dual oven, however, I get along ok with the one I have. I'm pining away for a new house! I want to move out of here so bad! But, I know it won't be that easy! Anyway, I'm glad that you got your dual oven from all the pouting you did! I'm older than you and you think you look bad pouting HA! The Flex Duo looks great. I really like the dual oven and the size of the unit looks the same as a regular so I'm sure it would fit in the kitchen where the old stove was. I could really use a dual stove when the kids all want different things to eat. I also like the 5 burners.

Now I'm jealous! What an oven! That's one thing we could really use. When we bought our home it came with an oven and fridge that are both really old. When we do replace ours, I'll have to check this one out.

I can't imagine not having dual ovens! Having 2 ovens is especially important on those big feast days like Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas!

HGTV is fun to watch but I agree, it can be really frustrating. It's like watching a wishlist I know I'll never be able to afford, lol.

I see television, magazine layouts, whatever. It's easy to be envious and wonder, am I ever going to grow up and have all of the wonderful things that everyone else does. Everyone else doesn't.

I am not laughing - I am so envious! You would die if you saw our kitchen. So tiny, only 2 people can fit in at once, if they're small people. This is a very old apartment building, and none of the shiny new appliances will fit. I can hope for a new Samsumg microwave from Best Buy, though, when our current microwave gives up the ghost. (And from the way it's been heating up lately, it won't be long!)

I always get a chuckle reading your posts. A thirty something pouting, I'm fifty something and still pout. It doesn't always work, the silent treatment does.
