If you’ve been following the blog for a while then you likely know that I am the proud mommy of a 6-year-old little girl. What you may not know is that I’ve been with my husband for 16 years and that we’ve always wanted to have multiple children. Would you be surprised to learn that TTC (trying to conceive) has been a part of our everyday vocabulary for over 10 years? That one in six couples struggle with infertility and we are “lucky” to be one of them?
Have you ever wanted something so badly that it effected every aspect of your life? What you eat, the matter that fills your headspace, your relationships with others including your significant other, and constant feelings of failure. What if this “something” was something that you really had no control over but you desperately wanted it anyways. You were willing to do anything and everything in your power to obtain it. What if … what if that one thing was having a baby?
As the proud mommy of an intelligent, beautiful, loving little girl I have been blessed and fortunate to experience pregnancy and childbirth. To be honest, when we found out that we were pregnant, we had all but given up on the idea that becoming parents should be part of our future plan. We took eight, yes, I said EIGHT pregnancy tests to confirm the results and even drove to my mom’s house and had her look at each one of the tests to make sure we weren’t imagining it.
Becoming a parent changed everything. I know people mock the commercials about parenting and how it changes everything but anyone that has a child knows it is absolutely true. In a matter of seconds, life changes and suddenly you are response for this little being that is counting on you to survive. It’s intense, overwhelming, and simply beautiful. I never quite understood true love until I looked into my daughter’s eyes.
Being a parent is hard, anyone that suggests otherwise isn’t telling the truth, but the payoff is worth it. Every day I get to watch my little one grow and learn. I get to look at the world through her eyes and see the love that she is carrying with her into the next generation and I know that there is hope for our future. Every day I am also watch her take another step towards being a young lady and away from being my little baby and while I am proud of her achievements and cheering for her success I can’t help but think about days past.
As I said, we’ve always wanted multiple children. In fact, we have been actively trying to have another baby for four years. Tracking ovulation, timed intercourse, we’ve had the assistance of a doctor that was able to provide medication and shots, and finally, last year, we advanced to IUIs. We couldn’t justify the cost of IVF (nor could we actually afford it) but after speaking with our doctor and hearing that in normally four rounds of IUIs couples become pregnant, we scraped the money together and took a chance. After six months of negative pregnancy tests and tears we decided to take a break. Or, perhaps I should say I looked my husband in the eye and explained that I couldn’t take it anymore and we cancelled our next doctor’s appointment.
Since then, I’ve been in a fog of sorts. I still really, really want to have another baby but I’ve come to the realization that time is running short. We have problems, both of us, and that is why we haven’t been successful in conceiving. My husband is in his early 40s and I will be turning 36 this fall … time is running out. Our daughter will turn 7 this fall and we constantly question if it is too late to “start all over again” or introduce a little one when we are moving towards first grade and diapers seem so long ago.
After a great deal of talk and consideration, we have decided to give it one last go using The Stork OTC. The Stork OTC is a FDA cleared, home-use conception aid that combines an innovative applicator and an established conception technique – cervical cap insemination. The Stork OTC utilizes cervical cap insemination, giving couples the ability to use this technique in the privacy of home, without a prescription.
What I love about The Stork OTC is that it is provides couples with another option before they move into more invasive procedures by bridging the gap between natural intercourse and costly, in-office treatment options such as IUI and IVF. As an added bonus, The Stork OTC is not only available online but in stores we visit weekly (sometimes daily) like CVS. The directions are easy to follow, women are able to continue their daily routine during usage, and the cost is affordable.
For additional information and to find out what stores near you carry The Stork OTC, go to StorkOTC.com.
BUT WAIT … now through the end of August, you are able to pick up The Stork OTC on a Buy 1, Get 1 50% offer by using code STORK50 at CVS.com!
