Everyone always says that the sequel is never as good as the original. I’m not so sure that is true anymore. I can list off a bunch of movies where the second (or sometimes third) installment is better (or at least as good). The Godfather, Part 2. The Empire Strikes Back. Avengers: Endgame. I could go on and on. But I won’t. I’m also not going to say that Trolls: World Tour is better than Trolls. That’s like saying that a strawberry milkshake is better than a peach milkshake. They are both epically awesome but I can’t say one is better than the other. No matter which one I have, I’m going to hurt myself finishing it off. So back to milkshakes. I mean Trolls: World Tour.
The Pop Music Trolls are living in peace in their village and all is right with the world. Unbeknownst to them, the Hard Rock Trolls are on a mission to take over all the troll music. Wait! There are other kinds of trolls? Yep. Apparently, they split into six major tribes long ago based on their musical preferences: Pop, Country, Hard Rock, Classical, Funk and Techno and each has a musical string that embodies their music. The Hard Rock Trolls under Queen Barb are on a quest to gather all the strings and unite all the tribes. In other words, wipe out all the other forms of music and turn all the other trolls into hard rock zombies.
Will they succeed? Will Branch and Poppy foil their evil scheme? Will Branch ever figure out how to tell Poppy how he really feels? Who is the mysterious country music troll helping Branch and Poppy?
All these questions and more will be answered when you check out Trolls: World Tour on DVD, Blu-Ray or Digital.
And if you happen to have children, I highly recommend the Dance Party Edition. Watching the movie in Dance Party Mode is very entertaining (and will give you a good workout to boot).
