These days the sounds emanating from my television generally consist of things like Descendants 3 or Kid’s Baking Championship. We’re in the process of preparing for back-to-school and more multiplication and division on the horizon.
About five years ago, we were in a really different position! We were still preparing for back-to-school but at that point, our backpack was filled with things like crayons, tissues, and an extra set of clothes for potential spills. This was also the time when my life was realigning as I shifted away from the corporate sector and started focusing on my own business at home.
I remember spending time building, coloring, playing dress up, and enjoying the catchy tunes from Disney Junior “classics” like Henry Hugglemonster (wasn’t he so cute!), Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, and my absolute favorite, Sheriff Callie’s Wild West. I would find myself humming along to the songs from each episode as I cooked dinner, straightened up for the night, and did dishes. Ahhh, life was so simple then!
I thought these times of fun features on Disney Junior were coming to an end but thank goodness for young cousins, that time is still here, and we aren’t ashamed to admit it. The most recent show to be added to our download queue is courtesy of a “Pajama Party” babysitting event at my sister’s house a couple of weeks ago. It was then that my nephews introduced my daughter, Baby Ninja, to their new favorite Disney Junior program, T.O.T.S. (Tiny Ones Transport Service).
At first, I found myself just watching the kids dance around. It’s still kind of amazing to watch a three-year-old bounce around and try to sing along to lyrics knowing that he is still working on developing his vocabulary and sentence structure. The 18 month old was absolutely hilarious because he is starting to pick out words here and there, which he sorta says on repeat, and he bounds around the house like a miniature bomb that is ready to go off at any moment.
At first I was just watching and laughing. Then, I found myself up dancing around. I was totally taken by this cute new show.
T.O.T.S. (Tiny Ones Transport Service) debuted on Disney Junior June 14, 2019. In the show, Pip the penguin and Freddy the flamingo are two delivery birds in-training at the T.O.T.S. (Tiny Ones Transport Service) who are also the non-stork delivery birds at the corporation. Together, the two help take care of the babies, where they travel around the globe to find their forever families in need while learning to solve problems.
Today, Disney Junior released a DVD with 14 Adorable Baby Adventures PLUS Music Videos. T.O.T.S.: Bringing This Baby Home follows best friends Pip and Freddy, delivery birds for the Tiny Ones Transport Service (T.O.T.S.), as they take cute and cuddly baby animals to their forever families, including a big batch of bouncing baby bunnies, a baby panda who’s almost TOO adorable, a trip to the ocean with one whale of a baby, and much more!
Me: Why do you like T.O.T.S.?
Baby Ninja: It’s SO funny! I like how they all work together as friends to solve problems. Oh and mommy, it is SO musical!
Me: You said it was musical, what do you like about the songs?
Baby Ninja: They are super cute! They make me want to get up and dance (she gets up and dances around). They also stick in my head so I keep singing them. I even remember them at night in bed.
Me: Who is your favorite character in T.O.T.S. and why?
Baby Ninja: Freddy is my favorite. He is funny, energetic, and cool. OH … and I really like flamingos! I like Captain Beakman, too. Every time she comes in, she asks Pip and Freddy if something is wrong. Then they share with her and she assures them it will all be okay and then she tries to help them solve their problem.
I think it’s fair to say that Baby Ninja, my daughter, hit all the high points for me, too. I really enjoy the music, because I am all about those catchy tunes. What I also really enjoy about Disney Junior is that there is always a message. This show focuses on friendship, teamwork, and working together to solve problems. I also love that my daughter doesn’t stop smiling as she watches and I can still see the Peter Pan in her as her eyes light up with excitement.
The DVD is available in-stores or on Amazon TODAY! Be sure to tune in to Disney Junior for new adventures.
