I was sent on an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles, California courtesy of Disney to experience The Good Dinosaur and a series of other adventures surrounding the movie. Regardless, all opinions expressed are still 100% my own. Please note that some images are courtesy of Getty Images
Hollywood. Land of swimming pools and movie stars, or maybe that was Beverly Hills. Oh well, close enough. There is a certain mystique about Hollywood. Actors around every corner, glitzy night life, limousines, gala movie premieres on the red carpet. We see it in movies, on television, and pictures all over the internet but how many of us will ever have the chance to say, “I walked the red carpet …”? To see celebrities up close and personal and attend the swanky after party that comes with such a premiere. Unless you are in the industry, the chances are slim to none, but this girl … ladies and gentlemen, I just had the experience of a lifetime and I am proud to say I WALKED THE RED CARPET! Well, really it was a green carpet with a river running through it but it was the Gala Premiere of The Good Dinosaur so it is only fitting.
Yeah, you read that correctly. I got to go to a real Hollywood Movie Premiere. Hmm, do I sound like a star struck hayseed? I don’t care. I got to go to a Hollywood Movie Premiere. Imagine. Walking the actual carpet, rubbing elbows with the stars. Fielding questions from reporters and facing the paparazzi. Then seeing the movie and getting to go to the after party, more rubbing elbows with the stars. Ok, so maybe the reporters and paparazzi weren’t that interested in me, but the rest was pretty cool. All of this for a seriously fun movie, The Good Dinosaur, Disney•Pixar’s newest awesome collaboration!
It all started out on the green carpet, flashes going off everywhere, celebrities fielding questions, star spotting, and pictures galore. I’m not even sure I’ve come to terms with everything I saw and experienced. The lights, the laughter, the celebrities! Think Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, Marcus Scribner, Mario Lopez, Ian Ziering, and Bracken Meyer; just to name a few.
Then it was inside the El Capitan Theatre to watch the adventures of Arlo and Spot! No, I’m not going to tell you which one was the person and which one was the dinosaur. They have to navigate a world where dinosaurs did not go extinct and man evolved in conjunction with the dinosaurs. No spoilers but total cuteness.
After the movie it was off to the after party at OHM Nightclub. Great sweets and eats, conversation, celebrity spotting, and fun to be had by all! I couldn’t help but stand back in awe of the event and try to come to terms with the fact that this was now a part of my reality. By the end of the night my feet were throbbing and I was ready to climb for some sleep but I was smiling like a kid on Christmas. It all really happened, surrounded by a great cast and crew, a great film, and some new amazing friends.
There is so much more to share and I can’t wait to do just that. Stay tuned as I take you through the rest of my recent trip to LA for The Good Dinosaur Premiere and be to follow along at #GoodDinoEvent #ABCTVEvent #LionGuardEvent for the latest happenings and the awesomeness ahead.
