Superior Source Vitamins Review {Plus Giveaway}

by Heather

I do not know about you but anytime I am preparing to head out for a family trip there are always a number of things that I seem to forget. Or, there are those things that suddenly come up as a must have even though they never crossed your mind as you were packing. One thing that always comes up when our family prepares to travel is having a difficult time sleeping; inevitably this is something that always happens when we are on a trip. Think about it, you are in a new place, sleeping in a foreign bed, surrounded my new sounds, and nobody wants to spend time away from home suffering from sleep deprivation. Luckily, that will not be a problem in a few weeks when we take our annual “Farewell to Summer” road trip to visit some friends; all thanks to the Superior Source Family Vacation Pack that I received which contains a bottle of all natural sleep aid Melatonin! Even better, the results will be super speedy.

Unlike many products on the market, Superior Source Vitamins are MicroLingual® which stands for “Under the Tongue Technology.” By dissolving in seconds and quickly being absorbed by the body this allows them to work quickly. As a side note, did you know that by swallowing supplements we lose as much as 50% of the potency due to the high acid environment of the stomach? I had no idea and that is horrible, no wonder why supplements sometimes do not work as well as we expect them to or at least hope they will. Hmmm, now, where was I? Oh yes, the Superior Source Family Vacation Pack!

The Family Vacation Pack, the package that I received, contains the following items:

  • Vitamin B12 1000 mcg + Folic Acid 400 mcg
  • Vitamin C Tangy Orange Melts
  • Children’s B Complex with Vitamin C
  • Melatonin 5 mg
  • Sweet ‘n Natural Stevia Extract
  • Lip Healer 3-Pack
  • Travel Pouch

As I have mentioned before, I am a gastric bypass patient so I am extremely well acquainted with Vitamin B12. As a result of my surgery I have to take this supplement daily and my surgeon recommends the “under the tongue” technique versus others. I just did not realize this methods works with other forms of supplements. I really do not know why this never occurred to me but it simply didn’t. The combination of B12 and Folic Acid supports a healthy heart and cardiovascular system by providing essential nutrients.

The Vitamin C is always great to have on hand; I keep one in my medicine cabinet at all times. Whether at home or away, you never know the environments or people that you will come in contact with and it is important to have an extra boost of vitamins on hand to help you sustain a healthy immune system. One of the forms of Vitamin C that we received was the Tangy Orange Melts the other was the Children’s B Complex with Vitamin C.

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient that unfortunately, our body is not able to produce. We use the majority of our Vitamin C during cold and flu season but you never know when an icky bug is going to find its way into your system. Superior Source’s Tangy Orange Melts are sweetened by Stevia and not loaded with sugar.

The Children’s B Complex with Vitamin C contains elements of the two products that we just discussed above. To quickly recap, this product contains B-Complex with folic acid and calcium. The new ingredient in this bounce is biotin. The combination of these elements provides nutrients that support health for the production and maintenance of new cells as well as supports nervous system health, energy metabolism, and healthy heart function. I don’t know about you but this is something that I introduced to my daughter right away. Vitamins are important!

Now, as I mentioned above, there were two additional products in my Travel Pouch; Sweet ‘n Natural Stevia Extract and a 3-Pack Lip Healer. I have to be honest, for the life of me, I could not figure out WHY these two products were included. Then I really started thinking about it….

Sweet ‘n Natural Stevia Extract is important because it is a naturally sweet dietary supplement. Think about the numbers of times you go into a restaurant when out of town. Now, think about what is on the table. Sugar, sugar, sugar … yeah, and more sugar. My body does not process sugar well; however, it is able to handle Stevia in small quantities. Anytime I am sweetening my coffee or making my own lemonade concoction at the table I need Stevia or nothing else. Score … now I have some for traveling.

The Lip Healer, this really should have been a no-brainer. If I am out of town I am spending more time outside than in; unless I am traveling for business. This means that I am receiving a great deal more sun exposure than normal. Umm, hello, I work on a computer, how often do you think I see the sun? Anyways, I have very light skin and burn rather easily which means my lips dry, burn, and sometimes even blister. The lip balm is Petroleum Free AND it contains Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Calendula, and Chamomile which helps moisten and sooth my lips while providing much needed SPF-15 protection.

If you have not figured it out by now, this is an awesome travel companion. Thanks to the Travel Pouch, I have new essentials that I will take with me everywhere I go along with my First Aid Kit.
