IT’S DECEMBER! Following our Thanksgiving celebration, we started the holiday season with a little shopping, a little sleep, and a lot of pie (to compensate for lack of sleep) before really kicking off the yuletide by selecting our family Christmas tree. After the new addition to our home had the chance to stretch his arms and relax we started stringing lights and hanging ornaments while listening to festive music and added “cheers” to the night with a cup of hot cocoa.

Now, every once in a while I try to be fancy schmancy when making treats for the family and this was the perfect night. With hot cocoa on the menu that meant it was time to jazz it up a bit! For my little one, I added mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. For the adults, mini marshmallows and a candy cane. Oh my gosh, I LOVE candy canes … anything peppermint and I am in! I must have muttered something about my love for peppermint because my husband laughed in agreement and commented about how I put it on every night.

Kind of confusing? Let me explain! It all starts with essential oils.

Since being introduced to essential oils, I have been doing my best to become better educated about oils, their function, and how I can use them to better my family’s life. Now, I have to admit that since my research began I have established favorites and I keep these few in stock at all times. As you probably guessed it, one of them is peppermint! It’s cooling and I find it rather soothing.

Yet, it’s funny, I never really thought about it and I definitely didn’t think about it in relation to the holidays until we were sitting around the tree and my husband made that comment. Then everything came together.

The first thing I did was text my sister, a licensed massage therapist, and asked her if she ever thought about offering a “holiday menu” to her clients. Guess who has some new options! Yes, yes … it’s nice to have a sister who is so “creative” in the family, I know, no thanks needed! I explained that if she needed a guinea pig for trial and error I was more than happy to help and provide my feedback. I’m sure she’ll be in touch any day now!

After giving my sister a great idea with zero return (I kid!), I decided it was time to look a little closer to home … my husband. He is absolutely amazing, works hard to provide for his family, never takes “me time” for himself, and offers me more love and support than I could ever imagine receiving. I text my other sister (yes, I have two), and set up a time for her to have a Princess Sleepover with my daughter so my husband and I could enjoy a night at home to celebrate the holidays. A nice home cooked meal, fire in the fireplace as we wrap presents, and then something special for my husband, a peppermint massage courtesy of his wife; who has no idea what she is doing and Nature’s Bounty® Earthly Elements™. I am hoping that this will allow us to enjoy some adult conversation and holiday cheer, and I hope my husband will see how much I appreciate him and his efforts. It’s time for some “me time” for my husband.

I use essential oils all the time. Peppermint is actually one of my favorites. I just love the way it smells, and it opens up my sinuses, too.

A nice peppermint scent would be lovely this winter. You could really add to the atmosphere of your home with a diffuser.

I have been using essential oils for past few years which gives so much relaxation & also creates an ideal environment for a romance filled home. Peppermint is the favorite scent for me as well & would love to try out these.

I didn't know that they had oils. I prefer floral or an orange scent. Anything except vanilla and lavender.

That hot cocoa looks amazing! I like marshmallows but the design makes me think whipped cream is far more special. I have started using essential oils but still have a lot to learn. These are great ideas.

Thanks for the Fantastic Review on Relaxation and Romance! WOW! It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday season! I wish things could be like that around here! But, they are not so I dream through others stories! I would love to have a fireplace to light on these cold winter nights! We started looking at houses because the steps in our home are just too much for both of us to take anymore! With all of our aches and pains, it's 14 steps down to the basement for laundry and 16 steps up to the bedroom! I'm making it a must for a fireplace! We've been looking at a lot of foreclosures and homes that are in need of some fixing up. (they are much cheaper! and that's what we need CHEAP!) Anyway, back onto the subject, it sounds like you really enjoy peppermint and use the peppermint oil quite a bit. I hope that your night to pamper your husband and let him have "his time", worked out well for the both of you! I have some essential oils, however, with my crazy life, I really haven't taken the time to learn more about them! Thanks for sharing your fantastic review, the pictures (and that hot chocolate looks scrumptious!), and your personal and professional opinions on Relaxation and Romance with all of us! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele :)

Ive never used essential oils before. Ive heard alot about them and was even invited to a class about using them but never got the chance to go. I may have to look the lady up that invited me and see if they are still holding the classes about them. Im not too big on pepperment but wondering what its like as an essential oil.

I enjoy using essential oils and I to recently game my hubby a treatment, I had his robe and slippers waiting for him to shower and then I gave him a rub down, I know he appreciates this, and I in return felt wonderful doing it for him..
