It’s National Pizza Month!! Did you even know that was a thing? Well it is, and I am glad it is. To me Pizza is the perfect food. You can get all of the food groups… Oh wait, do they do food groups anymore? There’s some sort of pyramid thing now I think. Anyway, I grew up on the 4 food groups so that’s what I’m sticking with. Pizza can give you all four food groups: dairy, meat, grains, and fruits and veggies. It can be as healthy (or not…) as YOU want it to be, and you can make it at home as easy or as complicated as YOU want to be.
Today I’m going to give you one of my easy go-to recipes for simple Teriyaki Chicken Pizza.
1 Mama Mary’s® 7″ Thin and Crispy Gourmet Crusts
2 tablespoons Barilla® Spicy Marinara
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)
1/4 cup Cabot® Extra Sharp White Cheddar Cheese (grated)
1/8 cup Dole® Pineapple chunks (about 8 chunks actually, cut them in half)
1 tablespoon Filipo Berio Olive Oil
¼ cup Chicken, cut up (I use a rotisserie chicken
Kikkoman® Teriyaki sauce
Start by brushing the olive oil on the pizza crust. Well, actually, take the pizza crust out of the package first and put it on a foil lined baking sheet, then brush it with olive oil (the crust, not the package). Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Spread the Spicy Marinara over the crust, so it is a thin layer. Sprinkle with the Mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Top with the chicken and Pineapple chunks. Drizzle the teriyaki sauce over the whole pizza.
Once the pizza is ready to go, turn the oven down to 425 degrees and pop the pizza in for 7 to 10 minutes (9 in our oven made it perfect!). So run on down to Walmart now and get the fixings for your own super easy pizza to celebrate National Pizza Month. What will you make?
As an added bonus, keep an eye out for the fold-out booklet with over $5 in coupons for Mama Mary’s and select other brands.
