I’m a huge fan girl. I don’t mean that in the context of comic books or movies. I mean I love fans. I have to have air moving. Every room in my house has a ceiling fan. Well, not the bathrooms or the basement, but mostly because that would be a bit weird. But every other room has a fan and it is running. I can’t sleep without a fan running, winter and summer. When the power goes out, I am literally in sleeping hell. The hubby is the same way. I don’t know if it has something to do with growing up in a house with no air conditioning, but without a fan, life sucks (relatively speaking of course).
Now when I was a kid, the fan was this little blue solid metal noisy desk fan that sort of oscillated. But that was mostly in the form of slowly turning away from whatever direction I had it pointed until it was no longer pointed at me. It had one speed. It rattled. It was just not up to the task of keeping an uninsulated room in a hundred year old farmhouse cool. Heck I would have settled for “not miserably hot.”
