I have a vision of my daughter’s wedding. There is going to be a video montage or slideshow of lots and lots of embarrassing photos of my daughter when she was growing up. I haven’t actually told anyone else about this plan. But it’s there, in my head. I want it to be substantial. I’m doing pretty good so far on the candid shots of her passed out in weird positions on the couch after a long day of school and playing (oh the life of a child) and plenty of embarrassing shots of her showing off her “unique” fashion styling, but these are all pictures in the house or occasionally in the car.
There are so many embarrassing pictures still to be taken when we are out and about. Walking through the mall, or in the park or at dog training (although I’m not sure if she was training the dog or vice versa on that one).
There are a plethora of potential photos of her being a fool (I mean that in a good way). The time will come soon enough where I have to get a lot sneakier when capturing these embarrassing moments, but for now, she is perfectly happy to participate.
And so I have gotten in the habit of carrying around a camera. No, not my cell phone. I don’t have time to unlock, open the camera app and try to get a decent shot (my phone is slow in case you haven’t figured that out). I want to whip out the camera, hit a button and capture her pouty face striking a pose right there. To do that I need the good camera. A camera like the Olympus®OM-D E-M5 Mark II. With a super-fast shutter speed that will let me snap a picture at the drop of a hat, and then built-in Wi-Fi so I can share it out to my super-secret image folder at home (it’s called “Super-Secret Embarrassing Pictures for Wedding”) that no one but me can find I figure this will give me the edge I need to really embarrass my kid in the future.
Another bonus right now is the “Travel Light with a Free Flight” Promo they have going on. If you purchase an OM-D E-M5 Olympus will give you a free flight. Check out the full rules and details at www.FlyWithEM5.com. So a brand new camera and a free flight to take some amazing pictures. Where would you go?
