I love laundry. That doesn’t mean I love doing laundry, I actually hate doing laundry. But there is something about clean laundry when the dryer is just finished, plunging your cold hands in between a bunch of soft warm towels. Or the smell of fresh clean laundry right out of the dryer. Or looking in the laundry hamper and knowing that every piece of clothing you own is clean. Until tomorrow of course. Or the satisfaction of finding a match for all your socks. OR the jubilant feeling when you see that spaghetti sauce stain come out of your shirt.
Yeah, I admit I am a weirdo when it comes to laundry. Guilty as charged. So when I had to go out and shop for a new washer and dryer, I was picky. I liked the old front-loader I had, but it got smelly (I won’t mention the brand), and when we sold our house they buyer wanted it. I loved the one I had before that (again I won’t mention the brand) but it took forever to wash a load of clothes and then sprang a leak. So when we moved into our current house we were without a washer and dryer. Unfortunately buying our new house did not line up with Black Friday (which is normally when I like to do my major appliance shopping) but I knew we couldn’t wait 7 months, so off to Best Buy we went.
What we found was a lovely new washer and dryer combo from LG. Now I have been a fan of Front loading washers for a while. I love the fact that they use less water and electricity, while also getting clothes cleaner. Think about how much water you must use on a top loader versus a front loader (hint, on a top loader you have to fill the thing with water, multiple times). A front loader uses a fraction of the water. Plus, they get clothes cleaner. With a front loader, everything is tumbling around together, with a top loader the clothes are just…what…swirling around? How does that get anything clean?
So, we ended up getting the big 5.2 cubic foot washer (in graphite steel baby). It is so convenient. I must admit I am still learning all the functions on this thing. It even has Wi-Fi connectivity (I’m not sure why, but if I want to control it from my phone I can). And the best part is that Best Buy has a sale going on right now if you buy a washer and a Sidekick. Have you heard of the Sidekick? It’s a second washer that goes under your washer. So you can actually do two loads of laundry at once. Mind Blown.
So, head on over to Best Buy today and get the new washer (and sidekick) you have always wanted while they are on sale (Purchase an LG Washer and Sidekick and save $150). You won’t regret it.
