Have you been to IKEA recently? I am lucky enough to have one within driving distance, and when I say that I mean around 20 minutes away, but I try to limit my visits, within reason, because I’ve been known to spend a bit of money when visiting.

One of my favorite things about IKEA is that it is a great place for the entire family to visit. We’ve actually made it one of our weekends outings or Friday nights out because you can arrive, head up to the restaurant for some delicious eats at a reasonable price, and then head to the upper level showroom to see the latest design ideas before heading to the lower level and picking up any of our new favorites.

Now, I know that IKEA is constantly rolling out new products but I was invited to the ribbon cutting service at our local store in Ohio to celebrate the new look of their COOKSHOP and I think it is about time to reinvigorate the look and feel of my kitchen and dining room.

The first thing that I noticed about the COOKSHOP at IKEA is how differently this new display area was designed compared to other areas of the store. Eager to create and support a more natural look and feel, the display casings are made of birch woods and more natural products. The products are displayed with a more open concept to allow shoppers to get a better idea of how the product will display in their own home and what items can be mixed and matched to create a custom look. And the design element of the store focuses on highlighting the products.

I have always found IKEA to be budget friendly but they are taking steps to please every budget with varied products in their glass, dishes, and even cookware. From everyday pieces to holiday collections, the COOKSHOP has everything that you need.

Now, if you are anything like me then you long for a beautifully decorated home but unfortunately, you lack the design gene. No worries, the COOKSHOP has this covered as well. From plates to placements and napkins, the store offers mix and match design ideas to help you create the perfect look for your home. They have also made the selection process easier by having like products with similar color pallets in close proximity.

My biggest surprise of the night was the number of food products that IKEA offers. I’ve eaten in the restaurant, taken home their sticky sweet cinnamon rolls, and munched on one of their chocolate bars while shopping but I had no idea the variety of foods available. From salmon to bread pudding and even organic coffee, IKEA seems to have it all. Check out the yummy goodness that they shared with us!

While the new COOKSHOP was absolutely gorgeous and the food filled my tummy with happiness, my favorite part of the evening was learning about the passion behind IKEA’s product line that encourages getting our kids in the kitchen. My daughter has helped with cooking and baking since she was old enough to stand and turn a spoon. There have been a million great memories created while standing at the stove and stirring together ingredients for the oven. I love adding to our cooking collection and any products that were created with my Mini Me in mind and yours are an added bonus.

If you haven’t been to IKEA lately then make a date to head there this weekend. They rolled out a new product line on October 1st and they are gearing up for the holidays with their new VINTER collection.
