Proper insulation makes a huge difference. Especially in an older home. Just as we loose heat in the winter, the cool air can seep out.

I have blinds up in each room. They’re nice but at certain times the sun still streams in making the rooms hot. I don’t like drapes so I use light nice looking tablecloths and drape them over the window when I’m in the room.

Especially in the summer. When I mow the lawn I also drape a very cold damp towel across my neck. It helps a bit.
