Vinyl Disorder

Have you been thinking about changing the style of a room in your home but held off because of the potential cost? Have you thought about a little sparkle and tada to a room but don’t want to spend a great deal of money or time? OR are you like me and would love to update just about every room in your home but you seriously lack in the creative arts/crafting category?

If you have been shaking your head the entire time while reading, first, I apologize because you probably have a headache by now. Second, I found the perfect solution for people like us!

Repeat after me. Vinyl Disorder.

Vinyl Disorder specializes in the production of custom vinyl decals, car decals, stickers, sports stickers, banners, website decals, and graphics … just to name a few … The Vinyl Decals provide a great way to bring a room to life without damaging the wall, including the paint. They are quick to apply and remove which means anytime you want a change, it is quick and easy.

My daughter is five and currently in love with everything pink and purple. She also adores hearts as she learned how to draw one about a month ago. She keeps drawing pictures of hearts and having me put them up in her bedroom. She also keeps asking me when I am going to let her paint her room purple and pink. And when I say she keeps asking, I mean every single time we go in her room she wants to know WHEN. There are two problems with this. First, her room already has a theme, including a professionally painted mural (we all make mistakes). Second, she is only five so her love of pink, purple, and hearts may change within the next week or so. ;) I didn’t want to keep telling her no because I want her to have a say in her own bedroom BUT there is no way I am painting over her very cute, very expensive themed room. There had to be another way.

Repeat after me. Vinyl Disorder.

The Heart Wall Decal Kit from Vinyl Disorder was the answer. All I had to do was navigate through their easy to use website which allowed me to select my decal, the size of my kit, the colors in my kit, and the material, and in less than a week your new room design is delivered right to your front door.

Installation was actually easier than I thought. Correction, installation was easier than my husband thought. He is an Engineer so he tends to get all giddy and geeky anytime a new project shows up that may (or may not) require a ruler, straight edge, level, and stud finder. Okay, okay, we didn’t need a stud finder but he had it sitting out just encase!

After watching a super speedy and helpful how to video provided by the company he set out to work and within an hour (it would have been less had my husband not been involved) my daughter had a new look to her room without us heading to the store to buy paint, drop cloths, or painters tape. I didn’t have to replace her bedding or curtains. And, when she decides that hearts are no longer her thing, I simply remove them from her walls and apply something new. This is the perfect, inexpensive way to jazz up a room and I absolutely love it.

I personally wouldn't use these to decorate. If I had a young child that wanted to use the decal. I'd have no problem with it.

Wow, they do have some nice ones on their web page. The hearts here are a little much though.
