I’ve had a Dyson for over 10 years. The Venerable DC-07. I love this vacuum. Literally. Like if I had to choose between my kid and my Dyson? Well, the kid would win. But if I had to choose between the hubby and my Dyson? Well, I don’t want to speculate on which one I would pick. Don’t tell the hubby. You have to understand, this is the first vacuum that I have had that lasted more than a year. This thing has fallen down the basement stairs. Twice! And survived with only minor injuries. It works great on all my floors (carpet and hardwood) and I love the bagless cyclone thingy. Now if I have a complaint it would be that it is heavy (it’s a full size vacuum after all) and it can’t get under my couch.
Let’s talk about the under the couch part. To start with I have hardwood floors (well Pergo, but don’t get me started on that). I have two dogs. I have a five year old and a husband. And lastly, I have a couch that sits about 3 inches off the floor. So in case you haven’t figured out where I’m going with this, let’s just say I have a lot of dirt under my couch. And the worst part is that you can see it. Dirt that the dogs drag in, Play-Doh remnants, pens that fall through the couch, money, paperclips and just about everything else imaginable.
Cleaning under the couch is a huge pain. I tried one of those Roomba things but it won’t fit. Using the regular Dyson is not easy, the hose attachments work but it’s cumbersome and awkward. As a result, it just collects dirt. And that is not really good because the couch tends to slide little by little, and that “sliding,” combined with the dirt, is slowly scuffing up our absolutely amazing and durable Pergo floor (hint, that was sarcasm).
So what is my solution? The Dyson V6 Absolute. Once again Dyson comes to my rescue. What is the V6? It is a cordless handheld vacuum. But this is no “dustbuster.” This is a full power cordless handheld vacuum!! It is light enough that my five year old can carry it around. This means I can finally put her to use doing some real cleaning. But it also has a powered sweeper head attachment that can fit under my couch. The powered sweeper head means that the roller brush actually sweeps up all the dirt and the long attachment arm means that I can fit it all the way under the couch from front to back. You have no idea how happy this makes me. Not that I’m such a Stepford wife that I get no greater joy than vacuuming, but I can finally manage to keep the nasty dust bunnies under the couch under control. That’s a good thing, I was just waiting for them to come to life and start creeping out from under there.

Dyson Fluffy: You may recall that I mentioned I have hardwood flooring, a husband, five year old, and two dogs. That all equals mess and a lot of it! The soft roller cleaner head on the cordless vacuum is able to suck up large dirt and fine dust on hard floors without scratching the surface.
75% More Brush Power: The Dyson V6 Absolute has two cleaner heads and the second one features a direct-drive motor which creates 75% more brush power than the DC59 Animal allowing it to battle hard spills and stains.
Easy to Push: The V6 Absolute has smooth movement across all floor types courtesy of a large, soft roller and increased versatility thanks to a neck re-design.
Dyson Digital Motor V6 = the most powerful suction of any cordless vacuum in use. Enough said.
