Anti-aging facials can cost a lot of money in a professional salon or spa. Why pay those exorbitant prices when you could do your own at home? A home facial can be just as effective and will cost you a lot less. Here’s how to do it step by step:
Step 1 – Get Your Products Together
First you need to make sure that you have all of the appropriate products to do your facial. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Makeup remover.
- Cleanser.
- Exfoliator.
- Steamer – optional.
- A facial massage oil.
- Face mask.
- Toner.
- Moisturizer.
The important thing to remember is that the products should match your skin type; in this case anti-aging for mature skin. If you use products that don’t suit your skin, they’ll have the opposite effect you want.
Step 2 – Remove Your Makeup
Use cotton pads to remove your makeup with a makeup remover thoroughly. You can also use a foam cleanser, provided it matches your skin type. Make sure you do this properly, including all around the eyes and neck.
Step 3 – Cleanse Your Skin
Although you’ve removed your makeup, you should now cleanse your skin with a cleansing lotion and cotton pads. You can massage in the cleansing lotion in small circular motions, concentrating on your forehead, nose, and chin. Wipe over with damp cotton pads. At this point you can steam your face, if you have a steamer.
Step 4 – Exfoliate
Now it’s time to exfoliate and get rid of those dull skin cells. Your skin will glow afterwards and feel so smooth! Massage in the same way as the cleanser and then rinse off. Make sure you do this thoroughly as you’ll massage exfoliating beads over your face in the next step and it won’t feel as nice.
Step 5 – Massage Your Face
Now you’ve removed everything from your skin, you can massage your skin. For this, you can use a facial massage oil and even add your favorite essential oils if you like. Use your hands and stroking motions over the forehead, nose, and chin. Don’t neglect the neck either! You should always massage upwards to encourage wrinkles to smooth out. If you can get somebody else to do this while you relax then that’s even better!
Step 6 – Apply a Face Mask
Once the oil has been absorbed, you can apply your anti-aging face mask. Read the instructions and follow them. You can usually relax for 15 minutes while it does its thing!
Step 7 – Tone
When it’s time to remove your mask, you can tone your skin to refresh and close your pores. Use cotton pads.
Step 8 – Moisturize
Now it’s time to smooth in a lovely moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and looking fab! You can get all kinds of anti-aging moisturizers, like LifeCell. You don’t need to worry about where to buy LifeCell though, as you’ll find it on many different online stores. Some places even offer free trials. You can also find anti-aging moisturizers in health shops and drug stores.
Now your skin should feel amazing! Repeat this process once per week and you should see amazing results.
