The Future of the Bingo Industry

Bingo

The most trending topic currently among bingo aficionados is mobile bingo. Have you played it yet? Experts say that mobile bingo might soon be the future of this billion dollar industry. The ease with which bingo can be played; a leap from the virtual world to the world of mobile is not shocking!

There are advantages and disadvantages related to mobile bingo that go hand in hand. Let’s take a look at some of them:

With mobile bingo, a player can play anywhere and anytime. Do you commute by bus, subways, or train? Do you frequently have to wait in a long queue at the store, theme parks, or even your child’s school? As long as you have an internet connection, with mobile bingo, you are good to go!

Just like the desktop version, even on mobile bingo, you can chat with your fellow players and socialize. Let’s be honest, we could also use a new friend or two and extending your social network is always a plus. This one is a tie; both versions offer the same feature.

Like with any form of technology, those who play bingo must ensure that they are updated with the latest technology. There was a time when iOS reigned supreme. Now it has been taken over by Android. Tomorrow, there may be some other operating system. It’s important, to stay abreast of all of the latest technology.

One negative of playing bingo on your mobile device is that you may get distracted by incoming calls. This will result in an abrupt end to the game. If you are like me and your phone rarely rings, this will not present a problem. If your cellphone is your lifeline, this may present problems.

Connectivity issues are also a massive problem that some operators have to deal with. In case of a weak network service in some areas, you may have to miss out on a good jackpot game.

The good and bad aside, the truth remains that technology is growing hand-over-fist, by leaps and bounds, and these issues may soon become a part of ancient history. For now, even some of the popular bingo sites like GameVillage Bingo, are yet to have a presence on mobile. The progress of mobile bingo, like many forms of technology, may have a ways to go but it will definitely make progress over the coming years. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the mobile gaming and gambling platform!

What are your thoughts? Do you prefer to play on your mobile or desktop?

This sounds great in a sense but we are really getting away from socializing face to face with others. This kind of scares me a little. We all need to be out and about amongst people. Thank you for sharing this information

This is new to me. I'm not into all of the social networking stuff. Can you win money on this or is it just for fun? I always played the bingo scratch off lottery tickets. I agree with the comment Linda made.

I used to play Bingo online--helped me relax. Also seems like mobile bingo would attract younger people--I tend to think of people going to play bingo in real life and being older.

I've never played Bingo as an adult but I used to love the game as a kid. I hope it sticks around I would like to try it one day.

(THE FUTURE OF THE BINGO INDUSTRY) Where I live (in a small town) there use to be three different places to go and play bingo. Now I think we are down to one! I would like to go during the winter months when there is not a whole lot going on-

I actually would prefer to play mobile vs desktop. With mobile I'm not tied down to a desk, and I can take my phone with me around the house. I can also play when I'm out like if I'm wiring at a doctor's office. I think the benefits of mobile gaming outweigh the risks.

I LOVE BINGO! I used to go to several Bingo's a week! Then they all started to shut down and now I never go. We have an App on our desktop that is for Bingo, however, it's just for fun and not for money. I don't quite know how I feel about it going all to desktop and to mobile, because part of the fun is getting out of the house and meeting different people and socializing with other people (who aren't "children") for a change! Thanks for the information and who knows exactly what tomorrow may bring! Michele :)

I've only played "virtual" bingo for fun (never for money, that scares me, LOL), but I love going to a casino or VFW to play in person with friends, the camaraderie is a big part of the fun!
