The Origins of the Mai Tai

The Mai Tai has a rich history that traces its origins back to the 1940s when it was first created by Victor J. “Trader Vic” Bergeron. Legend has it that he whipped up the first Mai Tai for some friends visiting from Tahiti, and upon tasting it, they exclaimed “Maita’i roa ae!” which means “out of this world” in Tahitian. Thus, the Mai Tai got its name, and its popularity spread like wildfire.

The Classic Mai Tai vs. The Frozen Twist

The classic Mai Tai is a delicious blend of rum, lime juice, orgeat syrup, and orange liqueur, garnished with a fresh mint sprig and a slice of lime.
