Who has started getting their gardening supplies this year?  We just started this last weekend.  Wanted to be sure that all the cold weather was gone.  It’s gone so bring on the spring gardening supplies!  My husband went and grabbed some essential supplies such as:

  • Shovel
  • Gloves
  • Flowers
  • Plants
  • Mulch

Speaking of mulch, have you heard about Florida Select Mulch yes?  It’s made from 100% Florida-grown Eucalyptus.  Eucalyptus Mulch is a sustainable Cypress alternative that is grown in Florida for Florida?  If you’re wanting to start sustainable gardening this year you cannot go wrong with Scotts Florida Select Natural Eucalyptus Mulch.

Scotts Mulch helps to keep that moisture, prevent those nasty weeds, and help get a awesome landscape all year around.  Florida Select Mulch is super easy to use, before you buy it you might want to check out how easy it is to use.  Check this out!

It’s easy to use, simply spread 3 inches deep.  Be sure to keep the mulch several inches from your tree trunk, house and other wood foundation.  Apply around your trees, shrubs, flowers, and veggies once your seeds have germinated and plants have developed.  Be sure to be careful and make sure seeds have germinated.  Don’t use it around underdeveloped plants, and keep it several inches away from house and other wood foundation/surfaces.

One bag covers a lot, depending on how deep you lay the mulch.  The following is based on using a 2 cu. Ft. bag of mulch.  It will cover the following:

  • 2 inches deep = 12 sq. ft. of bedding area
  • 3 inches deep = 8 sq. ft. of bedding area
  • 3 inches deep = 8 sq. ft. of bedding area
  • 4 inches deep = 6 sq ft of bedding area

On top of being an awesome natural product it’s sustainable, effective, and grown for Florida – Its super easy to use.

I know all of you don’t live in Florida, and that’s okay Scotts has something for your garden too!  Yes, it’s natural forest products-no water wood and comes in a variety of textures.  It’s Scotts Nature Scapes mulch and it’s a great option for landscaping needs this spring.  You can even get it in three different colors, which are:

  • Classic Black
  • Sierra Red
  • Deep Forest Brown

Whether you live in the wonderful state of Florida or the dry desserts of New Mexico like myself, Scotts has a mulch that is perfect for your garden.

I have a very large bank leading down to the back yard, and we have to cut down lots of weeds and brush every year. I would love to get some of this mulch to put on it and plant some ground cover and flowers. Draw back it will cost us a small fortune to do it. We have been racking our brains out for 3 years on what to do with it that won't cost us tons of money.
