Four Fabulous Ways To Save On Beauty Products

by Jenn

happy womanIf you’re like me looking good matters, but with a family to care for watching my budget is more important.  It seems everything that helps us ladies look fabulous is a little expenisive in my opioion.  Seriously, everything from deodorant to that cute little black dress you have been saving for.  Which I guess if okay, if you’re always on the lookout for ways to save on beuty products.

Many of us spend a nice budget on personal hygiene and beauty products, many of them are a necessity. Okay so that $12 red lipstick might not be priority, but shampoo and conditioner, deodarent, and toothpaste sure are.  The last thing you want is to have greesy hair, smell funky, and have stanky breath.  Makeup and beauty products are really an extra, an added boumus when you think about it.  It’s important to many of us, without a doubt.  Which is why it’s important to cut corners where you can.

Here’s a few tips that can help you save money on some of those important beauty products.

DIY

You can save money buy doing your own face mask.  Yes, it’s totally doable.  There is actually tons of great ways to have fun, and clean your face without spending an arm and a leg doing it.  Why not invite some of the girls over for a fun, face mask party.  My daughter and I do our faces now and again, it’s fun and a great way for us to spend time together and bond.  There’s a great article on About.com that will help you find the best way for you to scrub that face of yours.  Swing by and check it out – Make Your Own Homemade Face Masks & Scrubs.

Fun Hair Products

Have you seen the price of some of the fun hair accessories?  I’m sorry but I am not going to spend $20 on that cute little bow for my hair, nope not going to do it not even for my daughter.  It’s super easy to make one, why not buy some super cute material, or ribbon and have some fun with your daughter.  Making your kid’s hair accessories is much cheaper, and an awesome way to spend time together.

Use Vaseline

Buying one product compared to twenty sounds less expensive doesn’t it?  Did you know you can use Vaseline to make lip gloss!  Yup no joke, along with 49 other things.  You might want to check out this fabulous article – 13 Thing Vaseline Can Be Used For.

Deals

I never buy anything that is full price, there’s always a coupon code or one of my favorite deal sites.  I’m a huge fan of Bare Mineral, just love the stuff!  It’s expensive, so rather than paying full price, I have done my research and My Deals has great Bare Mineral and skin care savings. There’s actually an entire page of Bare Mineral Coupon Codes for 2013!

There’s plenty of ways to save money while shopping for those products that are important to use, but that are on our must have list.  Raising a family is expensive and it’s natural for us to put our family first.  Just remember there’s ways for us to have the extra things that make us feel amazing too.

This raises a really good point. It's easy for us to put the family first and put off doing things for our selves. We really should take some time out and have a mini spa day or something. I have found recipes for homemade everything from shampoo to foot scrub. I know my nail polish is going to be pealing again by tomorrow but it would be fun just for today.
