The holidays are coming and I couldn’t be more excited. We have our meal planned for Thanksgiving, a portion of the necessities have already been picked up, and almost daily we share a group text on anything that still needs planned, purchased, or perfected. Once a feast filled with turkey, mashed potatoes, corn pudding, and cranberries have been finished off by homemade pumpkin pie and whipped cream has been enjoyed, it’s time to get ready for the main event.
Now, I don’t know what your December looks like but for us, it is the busiest month of the year by far. And when I say month, I’m not exaggerating. The month starts with a trip up north to see family and celebrate the holiday season. Then we fill our calendar with holiday gatherings, fun, and school events. There are presents to be wrapped, plays to attend, more presents to wrap, shopping for necessities and goodies, themed baking days and cookie exchanges, wrapping some more presents, loading up in the car to enjoy lights throughout the city, wrapping more presents, and everything in between. December is filled with total chaos and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In fact, every year, I am grateful to be a part of it.
While being busy, enjoying time with friends, and being out and about is great, our main focus has always been family and will continue to be. I have two sisters, this was much easier when we were younger, now that we are all grown up and have families of our own, it can be difficult to find time when we are all available to get together and celebrate the reason for the season. On the flip side, now that we are all grown up and have families of our own, it is even more important that we set aside time when we can get together, enjoy family, and keep traditions alive. A couple of years ago we made a pact and agreed to set aside a week to celebrate together as a family. Instead of counting down to December 25th, as our family celebrates Christmas, we countdown to December 18th or December 20th, depending on the year and what everyone has going on. It is on that day that our family celebration begins. My daughter calls it Christmas Week.
During that five to seven day time period, we make a point of doing things that we did together as a family when we were growing up. So what does this time consist of? Enjoying the holiday lights and riding the train at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, baking cookies, wrapping presents, coloring in Christmas coloring books while watching Christmas movies {yes, even as adults}, making dad’s famous oyster dressing, mom’s sticky buns, and grandma’s yeast rolls, driving around different neighborhoods and singing Christmas carols as we enjoy the lights, stringing extra lights on the tree to make sure it glows with perfection, and anything else that we can squeeze in! We laugh, we cry, we reminisce, and we create new memories to last a lifetime. It’s amazing but a few years ago, it became stressful.
After having my daughter and aging a number of years, I started noticing changes in my body. Sometimes this meant taking at timeout from the fun which meant missing a funny joke, not being able to lick the spoon, or wondering if people noticed that something was different because my confidence level had changed. There were nights when my husband had to coax me to participate because I didn’t feel like myself. By now you are likely wondering what exactly changed? Now, I am able to say it was just a little pee. Before I was introduced to a new “friend”, it didn’t seem so simple. The truth is, it was, thanks to Impressa® and Walmart®.
Thanks to adding a new item to my grocery list, I’m back to living life with confidence. I’m not afraid to laugh at a joke, bounce around the kitchen dancing while baking, or lean over to get the tape when wrapping presents. I’m able to keep up with the hustle and bustle of the holidays without taking a timeout or feeling uncomfortable thanks to Impressa. I’ve shared this with friends and family, and now I’m sharing with you. If you or someone you know suffer from light bladder leakage, please don’t let it impact your holiday season. Impressa truly is the gift that keeps on giving! Will you be doing any of your Holiday shopping at Walmart this year? I will! Seriously, they offer amazing weekly deals so now is a good time to check them out if they aren’t part of your regular stop.
Next time you are at Walmart, I invite you to pick up a Poise Impressa Sizing Kit. Prefer to do your shopping online? No problem, simply go to www.walmart.com/impressa for more information.
