I’ve seen commercials for them and never quite believed it. An expandable hose? How much can a hose really expand? If you were to believe most men, one foot of hose can miraculously turn into 50. Now, since I’m not a guy, I don’t have that slightly skewed perception of reality. In my world, a hose doesn’t get that big when it starts out that small.
In my world, a 100 foot hose is always a 100 foot hose, and that’s ok. The problem is what to do with the hose when it’s not in use. Again, not really my area of expertise since the hubby does most of the yard work. I know, you thought I was going to say something else.
So let’s just say I was pleasantly surprised to see the 100 Feet from Quality Source Products really does live up to the hype. To start with, a regular 100 foot reinforced rubber hose is not light. The expandable hose, super light. Even my five year old can carry it. A regular hose she would be dragging it all over the place, probably right through my flower beds (when I say “my” flower beds, I mean that I go out and look at them, the hubby does the work). Second, it really does expand/grow and retract. You hook it up to the outside spigot and it looks short. You turn on the water and watch it grow. Hmm, that makes me think of something else that grows when it gets wet. Those little dinosaur sponges. Oh and my favorite part, it doesn’t tangle, twist, or kink like old school hoses. How many times have you lost water pressure while using and hose and had to track down the kink or knot? This makes watering a breeze; so easy breezy that I may even get involved this spring!
