Educational Apps for Kids by Kid’s Academy

Kids-Academy-LOGOInteractive apps that make learning fun!

Last month we introduced three Educational Apps for Kids by Kid’s Academy; please stop by and check out our review. They invited us back for an encore and we are thrilled that they did! Here is what we found.

 First App

Learn to Read & Write Kid Puzzles

The first app was designed to develop spelling, writing, and reading skills through games. Children will develop handwriting skills while learning to write letters; all through a game!

The full version of the app teaches children to write in uppercase and lowercase letters which is knowledge essential for Kindergarten. Audio and visual cues provide positive reinforcement along with encouragement and praise every step of the way. A star system celebrating performance builds confidence as children approach the apps two levels of difficulty starting with letter tracing and moving into independent writing.

While we only received the free version of the app for review, we will be purchasing the full version as our daughter is in preschool and we want her to learn uppercase and lowercase letters. Like every child she beams when she receives praise and encouragement which is why we love Kid’s Academy. Not all “educational” apps are created equally but Kid’s Academy passes the mommy test.

 Second App

Preschool & Kindergarten Learning Kids Games

Created to support the idea that learning is fun, this app teaches preschool basics through play. Your little one will start by collecting fireflies while tracing and will advance into tracing that requires developed fine-motor skills.

This app introduces reading, writing, and arithmetic; however, the primary focus is basics.

Our favorite part of this app is the use of frequent repetition. Animated flashcards teach letters and words and the app is created to allow children to learn at their own pace. Every child learns in a different way and at a different pace so this is an important tool needed to encourage success. My daughter is currently in preschool and fine-motor skills will be a focus of the year. Anything that we, as parents, can do to advance her development and encourage learning is a definite bonus in my book.

Third App

Kids Puzzles Preschool Math Games

This interactive app allows children to learn numbers through game play. The app focuses on: identifying numbers; one-to-one number correspondence; reading number symbols; associating symbols with quantity etc.

Our favorite part of this app is the ability for little one to play independently or collaboratively with mom/dad. This boost confidence while encouraging independence. Once again, frequent repetition is used as the core learning tool. We love that children learn by “doing” in this app instead of passive learning through sight and sound. We also love that this app provides such a game-like environment that your little one will forget that they are learning! This app was designed to engage, entertain, and educate children and that is exactly what it does.

Overall

While we would have preferred to review the full version of the apps we were able to capture the overall essence of the product. Kid’s Academy uses bright colors, clean graphics, fun characters, and an instructor with a friendly, encouraging voice to attract little ones and hold their attention. While there are other apps that claim to be educational in nature, we are yet to find an app that is up to par with Kid’s Academy and we will continue to support and recommend their products!
