The Jungle Book – April 15, 2016

There have been a few movies that I have been absolutely, positively can’t wait… need to see it now … excited about since I heard about the 2016 Disney Movie Releases in early January. One of the movies at the top of the charts as a MUST SEE is The Jungle Book.

I feel like we have been waiting an eternity but I am pleased to share that The Jungle Book will be hitting the big screen on April 15, 2016 – what a great way to celebrate Tax Day! – in or just 32 “short” days.

In the meantime, there are some exciting things that I would like to share with you.

First, before the movie ever makes it to our local theater it goes through a number of pre-screenings. One of the most exciting screenings takes place in Los Angeles at the Red Carpet Premiere and I am excited to share that 25 of my fabulous blogging buddies will be heading to sunny California in just 20 short days to experience the red carpet up close and personal. While there, in addition to walking the red carpet (as though that isn’t enough!), they will also have the opportunity to interview members of this amazing cast and crew. Keep an eye out for the hashtag #JungleBookEvent for all of the latest and greatest and be sure to follow my friends April 3 through April 5 as they go on a Disney Trip of a Lifetime!

Now, we may not be heading to Los Angeles but there is still fun to be had. Disney released a few fun activity sheets to get us roarin (see what I did there) for the release. Check out the links below, click, print, and let the fun begin.

Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. “The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. The wild adventure swings into theaters in 3D on April 15, 2016.

I grew up watching the original Disney cartoon movie. I cannot wait to see what they did with this remake! It looks like it's gonna be a great movie. :)
