CINCINNATI … I have a few questions! Do you like to garden? Do you want to learn about gardening? Or, maybe you are like me, fear you have a black thumb, but still like to look at beautiful flowers?

If you answered YES to any of these questions then I have the perfect event for you and it starts this week!! The Cincinnati Flower Show is coming to Yeatman’s Cove and if you want to learn, or simply bask in the beauty, this is your chance.

Featuring exhibits and lectures on creating your own beautiful flower garden or container or window box this event is sure to have something for everyone with a green thumb. Or, worried about that black thumb, maybe this is the chance to pick up some tips, or at least come see the Naked Karate Girls at the Spring Fling. The Cincinnati Flower show runs April 13th to the 17th.

The 2016 Cincinnati Flower Show takes place April 13-17, on the banks of the Ohio River at Yeatman’s Cove, 705 East Pete Rose Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.

Join the Cincinnati Horticultural Society on an international adventure of fine foods and fabulous florals at the 2016 Cincinnati Flower Show in partnership with the Cincinnati USA Sister City Association.  The theme of the 2016 show is “An International Adventure,” and will feature several new internationally-themed horticultural and food events throughout the week. Celebrities, both local and national, will be participating during the show.

The five-day event will blossom with unique floral displays and design demonstrations, celebrity lectures, international flavors, culinary events, and live entertainment for all ages and interest.

A General Admission ticket includes access to all signature floral displays, including the thrilling landscape gardens of the Horticultural Pavilions and the always-popular Dramatic Table Settings. Imagination is unleashed at the Creative Containers exhibit and at the beautifully brimming Window Boxes. Look for innovative ideas to transform your yard and garden at the fabulous Marketplace. The Amateur Flower Show proudly exhibits the amazing work of skilled regional gardeners. And, the Artist’s Studio presents a remarkable gallery of nature inspired art from a diverse group of gifted artists.

General Admission ticket costs are $15 for adults (age 17 and over), $5 for children (age 6-16), and free for children age 5 and under.



New to this year’s event offerings will be An Evening In Munich dinner, an international wine tasting event with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, an international Sister Cities cocktail and dinner celebration, Brides and Blooms, and a Battle of the Chefs cook-off featuring some of Cincinnati’s favorite chefs.

Many of last year’s events will also be returning. They include the popular Bourbon Tasting with local mixologist Molly Wellmann, Spring Fling featuring the Naked Karate Girls Band, and the always-popular English Afternoon Tea.

Tuesday, April 12

6 pm – Opening Night Gala

Wednesday April 13

10 am- Gates Open

11 am – Fine Food Show Opens

Noon – Ask The Experts Box Luncheon – With Ron Wilson and Rita Heikenfeld – Join Flower Show favorites, Ron Wilson and Rita Heikenfeld for a delightful box lunch while they provide illuminating gardening advice and the solution to (nearly) all your gardening problems. Ticket price includes all-day admission to the Flower Show.

6 pm – An Evening in Munich

Thursday April 14

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Master Gardeners Event – Master Gardeners and their guests will be treated to a special event with entertaining and informative demonstrations, local plant growers and door prizes. A lovely box lunch and all-day access to the Flower Show is included in the ticket price for this event.  $45

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Lunch and Learn with Sharon McGukin — Nationally known floral designer and author of “Flowers of the Heart: A Bride’s Guide to Choosing Flowers for her Wedding,” Sharon McGukin, will share her expertise to help you ‘celebrate life with flowers’. Sharon is known for her floral expertise, southern charm, and energetic connections with audiences. Ticket price includes all-day admission to the Flower Show.

6:00 – 10:00 pm – Wine Tasting with John Morris Russell and the Cincinnati Poptets – This fabulous evening features extraordinary music and wines from around the world and our Sister Cities. Your ticket price includes all-day admission to the Flower Show, so come early and enjoy all the Flower Show has to offer. Individual – $50, Couple – $80

Friday April 15

9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Ladies Day with Laura Dowling –  Join us for this wonderful tribute to the Ladies of our Sister Cities. You will enjoy great food, inspiring floral displays and exciting shopping. Our special luncheon speaker, Laura Dowling, is the owner of Interieurs et Fleurs, an Alexandria, VA. floral design studio, and is a former White House Chief Florist. Ticket price includes all-day admission to the Flower Show.  Individual – $75, Patron – $125

6 pm – A Soirée with Our Sister Cities

Saturday April 16

10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Brides and Blooms – This special day includes a lovely Bridal Brunch and a spectacular Bridal Fashion Show. See exquisite gowns from Fabulous Bridal and stylish men’s wear from Folichi’s Formal Wear. From florists to caterers to bakeries and so much more, we will bring together the best of all elements to create a wedding day that the bride and groom will remember forever! Ticket price includes all-day admission to the Flower Show.  $25

11 am – Author, Andrea Wulf Reception

Noon – Author, Andrea Wulf Luncheon

7 p.m. – Bourbon Tasting with Molly Wellmann  – Join Cincinnati’s favorite mixologist, Molly Wellmann, for a bourbon tasting evening you will not forget. You can make a night of it with our Bourbon Fling ticket and enjoy the Bourbon Tasting and a VIP ticket to Spring Fling. All ticket prices includes admission to the Flower Show, so come early and enjoy all the Flower Show has to offer. $75  Bourbon Fling  (Bourbon Tasting & Spring Fling VIP) – $110

8 p.m. – midnight – Spring Fling with The Naked Karate Girls – Get your weekend and spring started the right way at Spring Fling 2016. Featuring live music by Naked Karate Girls and an array of great food and drinks, this party is a perennial favorite among Cincinnati’s young professionals. Your ticket prices included general admission to the Flower Show, so come early and enjoy all the Flower Show has to offer. Cash bar – $25, VIP Open Bar – $50, Bourbon Fling – Bourbon Tasting & Spring Fling VIP – $110.


Sunday April 17

2:30 pm – A Southern Afternoon Tea

3 pm – Story Telling with Jean-Robert at the Fine Food Show

5:30 pm Gates Close

6 pm – After Show Plant Sale

I have never been to a flower show before. I didn’t inherit the green thumb from my Dad so I just like to look at them as opposed to growing them. This show would be great to see! 🙂
