Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Original Premiere of “The Christmas Promise” on Saturday, Oct. 30th at 10pm/9c #MiraclesOfChristmas

by Heather

I didn’t grow up rich. I don’t know anyone that grew up rich. There were good years and bad years. I suppose that’s life. Like most people, Christmas reflected that. But for a kid, Christmas is all about the presents. You know it, I know it. As you grow up you learn to appreciate the other things. You look back on the memories and the time you spent with family. But for kids, its all about the presents. For me, one of the best presents I ever got (even though I did NOT appreciate it at the time) came in one of those lean years. My dad was injured and couldn’t work, so our two-income house was down to one income with mom supporting the family. For Christmas my father, in lieu of presents, made a huge play table for my sister and me. He was so proud. I was so disappointed I cried.

Now, I quickly got over that and in very short order I had my Barbie dolls spread all over that play table in a fashion show that would have rivaled the big shows in Paris or Milan. Unfortunately, when we moved, the table had to stay because it was so big. He literally built it in the basement and it was not sectional. To this day, if I could have one thing from my childhood, it would be that play table that my dad made.

Fortunately, as a parent myself, our lean times have not overlapped with Christmas. But I still strive to emphasize the experiences over the presents. I haven’t always succeeded, but I’m trying. One of our annual Christmas experiences is the Miracles of Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. We are always on the lookout for our favorite movies and actors. And we are also on the lookout for all the NEW movies, like The Christmas Promise, premiering this Saturday, October 30th at 10pm/9c on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Join us on TWITTER on Saturday, October 30th starting at 10pm/9c for LIVE TWEETING as we watch the PREMIERE of The Christmas Promise. Follow #TheChristmasPromise

I am super-excited to see this premiere. Well, I am super-excited for every Christmas movie premiere, but we will be live-tweeting this one, so you need to stop by. Until then, checkout everything else they have going on this Christmas.

I’m looking forward to seeing Debbie Macomber’s A Mrs.Miracle Christmas because I’ve seen all of the other movies in the series and happily watch them ever Christmas season, even though it will not be the same without Doris Roberts!
