Skin care is something, which many women seem to neglect. It doesn’t matter how much makeup you put on; if your skin is in a poor condition, it will show. If you want to have flawless skin, you need to work at it every day. Despite what you might think, people don’t just wake up looking incredible. In fact, they do everything they can to ensure that they look healthy all the time. If you need a little help along the way (and, who doesn’t?), here it is.

Start a winter skincare routine

The winter is the worst time of year for beauty. Your hair looks limp, and your skin looks dry. Luckily, there are many brands out there who dedicate themselves to dealing with these problems. As the weather is still awful, we need to find ways in which to combat the damage the cold does to us. Your winter skin care routine should be quite different from your summer one. Since the weather strips your skin of its natural vitamins, you need to find a way to restore them. Look for skin treatments that help to put the moisture back into your skin right now.

Deal with wrinkles or imperfections

When you see your first wrinkle, it is a horrible day. Nobody likes aging, least of all us ladies. While some may ease into the idea of aging others would prefer to take a different approach. For example, I was speaking with a friend yesterday and understand that plastic surgery in Seattle tends to be quite reasonable, and so you can banish wrinkles before it’s too late. I haven’t checked the prices in Ohio … at least not yet! ;) There are many treatments you might want to consider, which will help you to get smooth, soft skin. Book yourself an appointment with a surgeon and see what he or she suggests. Remember, these people are experts in making people look young and beautiful. We know plastic surgery isn’t for everyone but, we like to cover all of the bases!

Check the pH balance of products

You might not pay attention to the pH balance of your skincare products, but you should. Many creams and lotions use acidic chemicals to help to cleanse your face. If the pH balance is not right, though, you could find that these chemicals ruin your skin, in the long run. If you have pale, sensitive skin, you need to be particularly careful when you use products. If you are unsure about the properties of a particular cream, you should book an appointment with an expert. Most department stores have a skin care section with experts on hand to help you out.

Banish dark circles under your eyes

Do you wake up with dark circles under your eyes each morning? If the answer is yes, you need to do something about it before the matter gets worse than it is. Over time, dark shadows appear more prominent than they once were. Using a concealer to cover them up is not the answer. Instead, you need to deal with the source of the problem. Cut out caffeine from your diet as this contributes to dark circles. You should also make sure that you sleep with your head raised. When your head is at the same level as your heart, rings develop.

Buy a humidifier for your room

In the winter, you likely sleep with the heat on all night long. I don’t blame you at all. We all want to stay warm and cozy throughout the night. Your heating takes the moisture out of the air in your room. That means that your skin dries out while you sleep. You can keep the heat on so long as you combat the dry air problem. If you buy a humidifier for your bedroom, this should deal with the problem. Put the device on while you sleep so that the air keeps moisture in it and your skin does not appear dry.

It helps if you're young, like the girl in the photo. But yes, I agree that you have to have to start at a young age and take care of your skin. I've found that running the humidifier does help. I'm bad about using face cream daily. You have some good tips.

I dont want to go to the extreme of platic surgery, but I am noticing dark areas under my eyes. Thank you for the tip on sleeping as I usually remove my pillows and sleep. Looks like I will have to use pillows to see if this is the problem.

An awful lot of the bloggers are very young and yes, they use different products to keep their skin looking young. I am older than most of you and I know exactly what it's like to have wrinkles appear and those lovely crows feet around my eyes. I also have bags under my eyes which have been getting worse due to lack of sleep! I would never go as far as plastic surgery though. I just need to find some really good products (which I can afford) that will help me "turn back" the time a bit. My skin seems to stay the same throughout the year. I have normal to fair skin and I have yet to find a product that will actually work how I want it to! I don't sleep with a "heater" per say, however, the heat is on. My bedroom stays cool and at times I think it's too cold! I climb into bed and cover up really good! I try to enter contests which are giving away skin care products that help with the overall aging products and such, however, I have yet to win. Thanks for sharing this information with all of us! I do honestly appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele :)
