I like to bake. Something about actually making something homemade for my family appeals to me. I didn’t say I was good at it, but I like it. Whether I’m good at it or not however, I still persevere and try to get better.
Now fortunately I can read and mostly follow a recipe, which is a good thing. The problem is that a lot of recipes call for a baking time within a range. Now if it said bake at 350 for 30 minutes exactly I would be good. But the recipe never says that. What it does say is bake at 350 for 27 to 32 minutes for regular pans. For glass or dark pans cook 37 to 93 minutes. For non-stick pans cook 48 to 56 minutes. Well, I have non-stick pans that look dark. What qualifies as a dark versus light pan? How do I figure out which one to use? It’s extremely confusing.
And you know what happens? Burned cookies, that’s what happens! Raw on the top, black as charcoal on the bottom, stuck to the pan and impossible to scrape off. An inedible mess.
So I obviously need a bit of help. And with BakeitFun silicone baking mats I have the help I need. Don’t get me wrong, I still have no idea which type of pan I really have and therefore which setting to use. However, the silicone baking mat lining my cookie sheet makes it a lot more forgiving. There is less chance of the cookies actually burning. The cookies slide off extremely easily. And if I do happen to burn them, it doesn’t ruin the baking mat or the pan. That’s a good thing, since I was contemplating buying stock in a cookie sheet company to keep up. 😉
