Ant-Man Movie Review ~ #AntMan #Marvel

by Heather

I’ll be honest. I don’t usually go to the movies for high art. I go to the movies to be entertained. In an increasingly chaotic world, a couple hours of escapism or inspiration. I’m not looking for Citizen Kane or post-modern Swedish expressionism with subtitles. I don’t mind a smart, clever movie, but I want to be entertained and not bored. Now I don’t know what’s in the water at Marvel studios these days (magic dust, fairy powder) but whatever it is, they seem to have found the formula for fun entertaining movies.

And Ant-Man continues that winning formula.

Imagine being able to shrink to the size of an ant. And control ants. And fly around on ants. This is all possible thanks to Pym Particles (Don’t worry, it’s not really possible, I meant it was possible in the movie, if it was possible in real life you would become so dense you would sink into the Earth). After being imprisoned for several years for hacking a corporation in a Robin Hood fashion, Scott Lang wants nothing more than to go straight and see his little girl, but being an ex-con makes that a little hard. Hank Pym arranges an “interview” that will set up Scott to become the Ant-Man, a mysterious hero that is almost a myth. Hopefully you see the connection. Hank Pym. Pym Particles…He has been keeping the secret for years, but when someone else is on the verge of duplicating his discovery he must do whatever he can to keep the discovery out of the hands of the evildoers of the world.

Ant-Man is funny. It’s fun. Its action packed. There are even a couple parts that will tug at your heart strings. It’s a good movie. Go see it. Like seriously, go now … you’ll thank me!

ANT-MAN IS NOW PLAYING IN THEATERS

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, Wood Harris as Gale, Judy Greer as Maggie, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, and Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym.

Peyton Reed directs Marvel’s “Ant-Man” with Kevin Feige producing and Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Edgar Wright and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. The story is by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and the screenplay is by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and Adam McKay & Paul Rudd. Marvel’s “Ant-Man” delivers a high-stakes, tension-filled adventure on July 17, 2015.

I really wanted to go see this the other day, but I ended up seeing Ted 2, without seeing the first one but my boyfriend wanted to see it. But I think our next one would be Ant-man! I'm super excited!

Ant-Man looks like an intriguing movie! I'm sure once my nephew (who is almost 4) gets wind of this, he will have us watch it!!! It sort of reminds me of a Spiderman movie.

I don't know what this movie is about but movies about bugs freak me out. Ever since I saw the movie about a man that tuned into a fly, I just can't watch those movies anymore.
