I am finding it difficult to find the words to describe my feelings about Tomorrowland. Enjoyable? Yes! Exciting? Definitely. Thought provoking? You have no idea. The problem is, those words don’t even begin to scratch the surface of how the movie made me feel or even think for that matter. The struggle is real my friends. So real that I have been attempting to write this post all day and have simply been unable to find the words.

Have you ever imagined visiting the set of one of your favorite movies? Perhaps The Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, Frankenstein, or Mary Poppins. Think about it. Can you imagine actually stepping foot on the scene? Maybe you wouldn’t get to meet the characters in the movie but the consolation prize is worth its weight in gold! The set, the props, the costumes! Most of us can only sit back, close our eyes, and imagine the excitement, the wonder, the WOW!

Do you remember the struggle that I mentioned earlier? DO you remember me saying it was real? That is because it was very real. Last Wednesday, May 6, 2015 I had the honor of attending a pre-screening of Tomorrowland at the TCL Chinese Main Theatre in Hollywood, California! There will be more on that in the coming days so keep an eye out. ;)

The following day I had the pleasure of visiting Disneyland! Okay, I may or may not have visited Disneyland. I explained to my daughter that I was going on a business trip FOR Disney but I never mentioned Disneyland. She is five people, FIVE! If she finds out I went to the home of Mickey Mouse without her I am pretty sure she would never forgive me. Okay, okay, between you and me, I visited Disneyland but I felt completely guilty for at least the first 5 minutes of the trip. Then I reminded myself that I am a professional, I must power through, and by golly, if Mickey wanted to hug me … so be it. Psstt, don’t worry, I didn’t hug Mickey! Anyways, I digress.

Upon our very business oriented visit to Disneyland we were able to check-out a sneak peek of Disney’s Tomorrowland movie and special exhibit for park guests of Disneyland Resorts in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Now, I don’t want to give much away but the sneak peek includes exciting, never-seen-before footage. Hmmm … spoiler alert … if you see Marvel’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON in IMAX, the sneak peek will screen prior to the film’s start. For me, it was great to re-preview (is that a word?) the beginning moments of the Tomorrowland film and the hidden treasures inside the sneak peek are well worth the visit.

From Walt Disney Studios

Today an unprecedented collaboration between the Studio, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort to offer park guests a 12-minute sneak peek of Disney’s upcoming thrilling, mystery-adventure film, “Tomorrowland,” opening in U.S. theaters on May 22. Guests will also enjoy an impressive exhibit that features the making of the movie with props, concept artwork and photos from the filming of the movie plus exclusive images from the Disney Archives.

I strongly encourage everyone to visit a Disney park for this exclusive look but in the meantime, there are a few things that I am able to share! First, as you approach the theater where the sneak peek premiers you will find yourself in another time, back in 1964. There are pictures and memorabilia to remind you or perhaps in some cases to introduce you to the era, signs of the time, and for me, more than a few surprises and factoids. After visiting Memorabilia Lane (ha, see what I did there!) the magical doors will open, you will shuffle inside, and partake in the sneak peek. Ssshhhh this is highly classified information. We’ll just wait for you to get out.

Okay, all set? Did you need a drink? Maybe a bathroom break?

Ahem, moving right along … as you exit Sneak Peek Boulevard (I crack myself up) there is a bonus stop in the adventure, the Tomorrowland Exhibit.

From Walt Disney Studios

The must-see event marks the first time that a sneak peek has been offered at Epcot in Walt Disney World and the first time Walt Disney Studios has teamed up with both parks to showcase an upcoming Disney film with footage and an in-depth look at the making of the film. Sure to spark the imagination and curiosity of all, the special exhibit details the process of bringing director Brad Bird’s vision to life and will show how filmmakers created the world of Tomorrowland, along with archival images of iconic Disneyland attractions featured in the movie.

I can’t even begin to describe the emotions that washed over me as I walked through the Tomorrowland Exhibit. Seeing the concept artwork, the props, and the costumes made me feel as though I was I was a part of the movie, a part of the action, a part of the message. The number of wows that could be heard as I walked through were many, the chatter of excited fans as they await the movie, and the genius behind it all … breathtaking.

Below are just a few images from the exhibit. I know for a fact that there was so much there that my mind and eyes could not process everything. As I was blessed to be a part of a 25 blogger group we have shared many pictures amongst ourselves and through every share I feel as though I have been introduced to and learned something new about the movie.
